Happy Blogmas Day 4!

I said that I wouldn't review Christmas movies, but there are one or two exceptions, because Christmas movies are on constantly, and I can't help but watch them!

Lacey Quinn (Merritt Patterson) is happy. She has a job that she loves, a boyfriend who completely shares her love of work, and she's about to land the biggest interior design client in her entire company. So when Christmas rolls around, she doesn't exactly want to stop working. But when she's asked to be the maid of honour at her best friend's wedding, she has no choice. One of her duties includes sorting out her friend's family's Christmas Cottage. Legend has it, any couple who spends the night in that cottage is blessed with everlasting love. So when Lacey gets snowed in with her best friend's brother Ean (Steve Lund), could the legend really be true? Could the cottage be making Lacey question everything she thought she wanted? Or could it be Ean himself?

This movie was predictable from the very first minute. It blatantly follows the Hallmark movie formula, so if you're a fan of Hallmark movies, then you'll definitely like this because it's exactly what you expect from a Christmas love story.

It has great instances of charming dialogue, particularly between Lacey and Ean. The two characters have known each other for years, allowing the audience to experience their familiarity, causing them to instantly warm to the possible relationship.

The main selling point of this movie is the snowstorm that these characters get stuck in. It's genius, because a snowstorm is already an extremely romantic setting. It ensures that the audience has time to bond with the characters as they bond with each other. This lets the audience fall in love with these characters really easily, which is exactly what you want from this kind of film.

However, something that this film suffers from is having little likeable characters. You have no choice but to support to main two characters because there is no one else to care about, which might make the audience less interested in the story. In addition to that, the ending of the film was extremely abrupt and unsatisfying.

Overall, there was great chemistry between the lead actors, and the film really reiterates the magic of Christmas. If you're looking for a cute, romantic movie to watch at Christmas time, look no further!

5/10
