I was really excited for this film. Not only am I excited for all the TCU movies, but I'd heard this one was much better than the previous three. And while I am now completely used to, and actually enjoy, watching bad movies in support of this franchise, it was a welcome change for one to get some praise. And that praise was deserved because yes, this isn't a great movie, but it's a lot better than the ones that came before it! It begins with a really intriguing, creative animation that was a great way to connect this story to the original source material.   In this reimagining of Peter Pan, Wendy Darling (Megan Placito) risks everything to rescue her brother Michael ( Peter DeSouza-Feighoney)  from the evil Peter Pan ( Martin Portlock) . I've made no secret of my love for the Twisted Childhood universe. As a lover of all kinds of horror movies good or bad, there's definitely a place for these smaller, independent, nowhere near critically acclaimed movies, and I'm here for it! I had varying feelings about the two Winnie-the-Pooh movies, and I was excited to see how similar or different this one would be. I never expected this to be good, and it wasn't, so it met my expectations! But first of all, I love the concept. I love the general idea of the TCU, and each film so far has had an interesting idea for their chosen characters. For this one, I wish they'd have stuck closer to the source material in terms of Peter's styling and appearance. While watching this it's really easy to forget that it's a Peter Pan...

So when I heard that the second was a lot better than the first, I was really excited to see it! And yes, this one is a lot better than the first! For a start, my major issue with the first was that Christopher Robin was not the main character and the audience didn't get to follow his story. This was completely rectified in this film. Christopher Robin was the main character, we followed the entire film from his point of view and really got to know him as a character. Because of this, the story is a lot better. I was irrationally excited to see this film. It looked like a cheesy, bad-on-purpose horror movie that would have been fun to love and hate in equal measure, and I love films like that, especially horror. After being abandoned by Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon), Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet terrorise a grown-up Christopher Robin, as well as anyone else they come across. This was a trip. The opening scene was 10 minutes long and felt like it was at least 30. I couldn't tell if the film was supposed to be serious, funny or stupid, and honestly the overall tone is a mix of the three, none of which really worked well. It is obvious right away that these are not characters the audience is supposed to care about, so why is time wasted giving them half-hearted backstories? Particularly the group of girls who have nothing to do with Christopher Robin or the villians.
