The Lion King | 100 Movies Bucket List

Image
Next up for the Bucket List was another animated re-watch! This is one of the core Disney movies from my childhood, so I've probably seen this upwards of 50 times. I've always liked the film, so liking it again this time around isn't exactly news. The one thing that struck me this time around, though, was how amazing the soundtrack was! Every single song is iconic and honestly, as good as the story itself is, I truly believe the reason the film is as highly regarded as it is, is because of the amazing soundtrack. That was definitely my favourite thing about it! As far as animated Disney classics go, there are definitely some that I probably would have liked to see on the bucket list more than this one, but this is definitely a classic and absolutely deserves its place!

The Lion King (2019) | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x I ended up seeing this on opening day, and I wasn't feeling anything about it one way or the other, but I'm glad that I finally got to see it. We all know this story, right? Lion cub Simba (JD McCray) knows that one day, he will inherit the kingdom from his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones). When tragedy befalls Pride Rock, Simba leaves his home, and his family, behind. But as time passes, can a new adult Simba (Donald Glover) find his way back home? I have to say, I wasn't excited to see this film. In fact, if my sister hadn't wanted to see it, I would have waited for the DVD. Nothing about it really appealed to me at all. And after seeing it, I feel the same way. Nonchalant. Some things about the film were great. First of all, the child versions of Simba and Nala (Shahadi Wright Joseph) were fantastic. Honestly it was kind of disappointing when the characters grew up because I thought that the child actors did a phenomenal job. Other people who ...

My Favourite Disney Songs! | Part 2

Image
Hey Guys x I did a post called 'My Favourite Disney Songs' back in the beginning of July, which you can view here ! In that post, I said I was going to do a part two so that I could add more to the list. I then completely forgot about it! But I've been wanting to do a Disney post for a while, so I decided that I'd finally add more to the list! I'm going to get straight into this because otherwise we'll be here forever! I'll also link all of the songs with their videos on YouTube so that you can see/hear them too! Strangers Like Me - Tarzan I re-watched Tarzan the other day and I am still completely obsessed. This song in particular is just so beautiful, and I think it really adds a lot to the story. The fact that he's seen people for the first time really makes me feel sympathetic for him, as he kind of doesn't know who he is, and this song really reflects that. I also think it's just really nice to listen to. I listen to it a...

My Favourite Disney Songs!!

I have said this before and I will definitely say it again, but I am completely a Disney girl! I've done a post on my favourite Disney films that you can see here  and I spend a lot of time watching my favourite movies over and over again! This time, I thought  would broaden the topic and talk about some of my favourite songs. I don't think I'll have enough time to write about all of the Disney songs that I love, but there is a possibility that I could do a part 2 to this post and finish the list! Belle   This song begins the movie 'Beauty and the Beast' and I fell in love with it as soon as I heard it. It is the only song that Belle sings that tells the audience about who she is and what she enjoys, which I love. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx1MmY1Bb50 Circle Of Life   The Lion King is another classic film that I love, and the message behind the song is great. It reminds you that things keep changing, no matter what happens...

My Top 10 Disney Movies

Image
I Love Disney! I am a Disney girl at heart, I am completely in love with the idea of writing for Disney or working with Disney in some way, and am hoping that I can make this a reality one day. Below are my top 10 all time favourite Disney movies: 10. The Lion King This movie is a complete classic. The story has been passed down through generations and I don't think I know anyone who hasn't seen this movie. It focuses around lion cub Simba and his family and friends. What I love about it is that it teaches family values and that the only people who control how we grow up, are us. It is a great family film that may even cause you to shed a few tears. 9. Monster's Inc. This movie, for me, has one of the best plot ideas of most Disney movies make before and after it. It is about monsters, who scare children as a job. However, the twist is that, although the children are scared of monsters, when they accidently allow a child into their world, we see that the monst...
