My Opinion On YouTuber Hate!

Image
Hey Guys x Last month, Marcus Butler was on British cooking show 'Celebrity Masterchef' - he then made a video, reacting to the hate comments that he received due to being a YouTuber on a Celebrity show. You can watch his video below: And I thought I'd give my opinion on this video and some of his hate. Now, for me, I'm not one of the people who thinks that YouTubers can do no wrong, there are some things about certain YouTubers, or even groups of YouTubers, that really annoys me. If you've read my 'YouTuber Book rant', you'll see what I mean. But for this, it's definitely something that I want to talk about because I think it's really unfair and a lot of the people that were hating on Marcus really have no idea what YouTube is, what YouTubers do or why they're even popular. So, Marcus got a lot of hate for being a YouTuber on a Celebrity show. And while I would also be one of the people who wonder why YouTubers are suddenly be...

The YouTuber Book Rant!

Image
( Image Link ) Hey Guys x YouTubers writing books has become a thing within the last 2 years, and it's quite a controversial thing! It's a topic that I've wanted to talk about for a while because I have some quite strong views on it, from both points of view. I also want to get your opinions on it because it's such an interesting topic! So, I am not on any particular side with this debate, because I can see both points of view about YouTubers writing books. I also need to point out that I don't see Carrie Hope Fletcher's book as a 'YouTuber book' - to me, she's an author. I think YouTubers writing books is great - on the one hand, as a viewer. These people have a lot of really young viewers, some as young as under 11. Because of this, these books can be the things that get these children to enjoy reading, which - as a bookworm - I think is really important! And I also think it's a good business. Many celebrities write (or have ...

Ramble About Youtube | Response To Jack Howard

Image
Hey Guys x Recently, Jack Howard made a video talking about YouTube. In the video (which you can watch above!) he said that he doesn't feel stimulated by typical 'popular' content, and he feels like he doesn't belong on YouTube anymore as a viewer. So I thought that I would respond to his video, because I have a few thoughts about this topic that I'd love to discuss with some of my own readers. First of all, I completely understand and agree with what Jack is saying about 'popular' content, and it's something that I've thought for a while too. I still subscribe to many 'mainstream' YouTubers (And when I say 'Mainstream', I mean team gleam, i.e. Zoe and Marcus etc with over 1 million subs) because I fell in love with their content in 2014. However, I'm finding that, more and more often, videos sit in my sub box unwatched because either I'm not interested in what they have to say, or I've seen the same kind of v...

A Year Of YouTubers!

Image
Hey guys x About a year ago, two of my friends started up a 'YouTube' club in our school every Thursday at lunchtimes. I was not into Youtube or YouTubers at this time at all, but I went along to the club each week to support my friends. And this decision was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. It's weird to think about how much YouTubers have impacted my life, and where I would be now if I hadn't ever discovered them. For example, I probably wouldn't be writing on this blog right now! And since I started watching them, my tastes for them have also changed. I started out by watching beauty gurus:   They were the most popular and they were who everyone was talking about, so I thought I'd check them out and see what all the fuss was about! The first two I saw were Tanya Burr and Zoe Sugg. Although I wasn't into make-up or fashion (and I'm still not really), I really liked them, mainly because of t...

My Top 10 YouTubers (Part 2)

My first 'top 10 youtubers' post here  was one of the first posts that I ever wrote, and looking back on it now, it feels weird to know that I didn't know how to put links in or how to close the gaps, and it makes me happy to see how far this blog has come. So I thought that it would only be right for me to update that post and let you see how much my favourites have changed! 10) Tanya Burr   Subscribers: 2,483,670   I love Tanya Burr! She was vlogging though September and she was my favourite YouTuber of the month. I just think that she's really genuine and so funny and bubbly. Although I'm not into make-up, I still watch all of her videos because  I love to watch her!   Favourite video: Baking White and Milk Chocolate Cookies   9) Connor Franta Subscribers: 3,372,914   Next up is Connor Franta. He left the collab channel O2L a few months ago (I think) and I really admired him for being able to make that decision, to do som...

The Youtuber Questions, Awards and Families Tag!!

It's time for another tag! I thought that, as I have been horrible at posting this week, rather than posting a review, I would post something that's a bit more fun and that I could spend a bit of time on. I have independently created a tag that I want as many of you reading to do as possible. I have created 29 questions, strictly about youtubers that fall into 3 categories: Questions based on you, Youtuber Awards and Your YouTube family. Feel free to read through my questions and them do them for your own blogs! As there are a lot of questions, I'll keep my explanations short but feel free to expand on yours! Questions about You! Favourite Female Youtuber? At the moment, my favourite female youtuber is Zoe Sugg (Zoella) as I am addicted to watching her vlogs and she really makes me want to start a youtube channel. She actually inspired me to start this blog. Favourite Male Youtuber? Going hand-in-hand with Zoe Sugg is her brother Joe Sugg. Choosing this was a much...

May Favourites!

Image
As it's the 28th of May, it's time for my 'May Favourites'! Favourite Movie: Back To The Future I'm counting this as one movie even though I am in love with the whole trilogy. I first watched Back To The Future when I was about 8 or 9 and I loved it ever since. Time travel has never really been something interesting to me, however the way that this was done completely drew me to it. The different recurring characters and the different issues that they face make me want to watch it over and over again (I watched the second part this morning)! I completely recommend anyone who hasn't seen this movie to watch it, and if you've already seen this, use this post as an excuse to watch it again! Favourite TV Show: The Big Bang Theory I am completely addicted to this! Sheldon Cooper literally makes me laugh so many times on a daily basis that it would be practically criminal not to watch it! The original idea is great because it paints the 'geeks' a...

1 Month!

Image
I can't actually believe it, but it's been exactly one month since I began blogging and the followers and comments that I have received have been amazing, making me want to continue blogging for as long as I can! I couldn't decide what I wanted to blog about today, but because it's bank holiday, I thought that I would tell you about the things that I have done today. I began my day by logging into my laptop and watching as many YouTube videos as I could. Here are some of my favourites: I then went out for lunch with some family members. It was pouring with rain and the last thing that I wanted to do was to leave my house, but I figured that if you don't get off the sofa once in a while you'll completely miss everything around you. We ended up eating at 'Frankie and Benny's' Being the boring person that I am, I opted for a plain cheese pizza for my main meal. It was completely delicious and I would definitely go there again and get ...

My Top 10 YouTubers!

My favourite YouTubers! Many of you may not know this, but I am a huge fan of YouTubers. I literally spend all of the spare time that I have stalking them on twitter and watching/re-watching their videos. So I thought that I would put some of my favourites into this blog, by letting you know who I consider to be my top 10! 10. Tanya Burr Subscribers: 2,044,318 Tanya Burr is at number 10! Although she is a fashion and beauty guru, which doesn't interest me (as I am as far from fashionable as one could be) what I love about Tanya is her bubbly personality. Watching her for  5 minutes could instantly make me smile from ear to ear without fail. She is also inspirational as she found something she liked (Doing make-up) and made it her profession. She now has a range of 'lips and nails' products on sale in Superdrug and it is hard not to be proud of her after seeing how hard she has worked for what she now has. Favourite Video: "'What is it?' Challenge wit...
