2 Months and 'Get To Know Me' Tag!!

Image
I started my blog on the 26th April this year, so I have just passed the two month mark that I have had this blog for. I am first of all amazed that I have managed to keep it up for this long, but I am also so pleased with the people who have left me comments about it on various social media sights, a part of me can't believe that people actually like what I do! I am really happy with my blog, but obviously I will keep improving and making it as good as it can be. Because I've hit the two month mark, I thought I would do a 'Get To Know Me' tag that I found here: http://www.lebeautygirl.com/2011/06/get-to-know-me-tag-21-questions.html I tag anyone and everyone reading to complete this tag so that I can learn more about other bloggers! 1. Are you named after anyone? No I'm not. My parents just chose names that the liked, although they probably heard the names somewhere before they gave them to me!   2. When was the last time you cried? Last Sunday whil...

June Favourites!

Image
Once again, it's time for my favourites of the month. I can't believe that I've been blogging long enough for this to be my third 'favourites' post! I hope you enjoy what I've been enjoying this month. Favourite Movie: The Fault In Our Stars I saw this movie last Sunday and posted a review of it the Monday after, so you already know how much I love this film with all my heart. A lot of people don't really understand the obsession over the film and book, but I strongly advise anyone who hasn't read/seen the book or film to do it immediately, because I loved it so much, and I can't wait to watch it again as soon as possible. Favourite TV Show: Family Guy   I've always loved family guy, but since I've returned to college I find family guy one of the easiest and funny things to watch. There's no real ongoing plot and I don't have to concentrate too hard on it. It is very rude and crude, but I love it all the same. Definitel...

Book Review #11: Fear The Worst by Linwood Barclay

Image
Here is another 'mystery' book, but to be honest, I enjoyed this book much more than ''The Missing" as it had more of a definite plot and it was a lot easier to understand. As I said before, mystery books are not the kind of books that I normally read. This book was actually a recommendation from my mum. She originally bought it for me, but ended up reading it herself. She immediately loved it and practically forced me to read it, causing me to love it too.   The book is about Tim Blake, a divorced single-father of a teenage daughter, Sydney. Sydney is staying with her dad while she works during the summer at a hotel. However, one day when Tim goes to pick Sydney up from work, the hotel workers and manager have never heard of her. That evening, she doesn't come home. So Tim looks for her, and keeps looking, spurred on by the fact that some very dangerous people are as keen to find Sydney as he is, and Tim knows that he needs to find her first.   ...

The Fault In Our Stars - Film Review

Image
Last night, me and two of my friends went to see 'The Fault In Our Stars' film. I was so excited and was anticipating that I would cry, kind of like how I felt when I was about to read the book. We saw it 4 days after it came out here in the UK (It came out on the 19th) because we wanted to make sure that we were not in a crowded cinema, as the rustling and whispered talking of the people around you will ruin your viewing pleasure, and we were letting nothing ruin TFIOS.   This was my seat in the cinema just before the film started. I was so excited that I took many pictures, but this one was the only one that was light enough for you to actually be able to see anything!   Obviously I've already written a book review for the book, so I won't waste time by repeating the plot to you, but if you want to know the basic plot, check out my book review by clicking here: http://louleecutie.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/review-2-fault-in-our-stars-by-john.html   ...

Book Haul 1!!

Image
I love books. I have too many books and will always choose to buy more rather than to give some away. Since my birthday, in December, until now, I have accumulated so many books that I haven't had a chance to read, so I thought I would use this post to show you some of the books that I have either bought or been given that I haven't had a chance to read.                                                         Joey Essex - Being Reem I am a big fan of TOWIE (The only way is Essex) and I enjoyed watching Joey when he was on it, so  knew that I had to buy his book. Although I haven't read it, I know that, as well as being light-hearted, he also touches on serious issues, such as the dea...

Book Review #10: The Missing by Lisa McMann

Image
This is the first novel that I am reviewing that is a thriller rather than romance or fantasy. As far as I know, this is one of Lisa McMann's most popular books, and I loved reading it. The book is about Kendall. She has OCD, and lives in a small town where everyone knows everyone. This makes it a surprise when someone disappears. Fast forward a few months and everyone has stopped talking about the strange incident. However, Kendall can't. And with her not-really-a-boyfriend Nico, she can't shake the feeling that something isn't right. Could this have something to do with new town residents Jacian and Marlena? Or is there a problem with Nico that Kendall just can't work out? The character of Kendall, as mentioned before, has really bad OCD, which is something that the author had first hand knowledge of as her daughter suffers from the same condition. I loved this element because it allowed people to be able to sympathise with Kendall and it made people reading...

Anxiety

Before I start this post, I want to link two videos. They are both 'Zoella' videos in which she talks about anxiety in general and her own anxiety. I want to do this because I want you to know that I am in no way an expert on anxiety, and although Zoella isn't an expert either, she knows more about it than I do. Dealing With Panic Attacks And Anxiety: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-iNOFD27G4 Anxiety Q&A: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sjuk3WMZByo I have anxiety. I don't know if what I have is an anxiety disorder or just 'normal' anxiety, but it has always been a normal part of my life, and I've never really spoken to anyone in depth about it. From a young age, being in certain social situations has literally filled me with dread and to this day, this has never really changed. The older I get, the harder it becomes because I'm much more aware of it. For example, I may not have liked going to big parties when I was 10, but now I'm old en...

My Top 15 Horror Films

Image
I am a great lover of horror films, they are my favourite type of films to watch and there are some that I could literally watch over and over again! This was originally going to be one of my usual 'top 10' posts, but I kept remembering more movies and I couldn't narrow them down. Here are my top 15: 15) I Know What You Did Last Summer I haven't seen this film in a long time, but every time I watch it, I fall in love with it again. It is about a group of teenagers (Pictured above) have a road accident and end up running over a man in the road. They decide to throw his body into a river and forget that it ever happened. However, someone saw what they did, and they're going to make sure that the teenagers know it. It had the right amount of jump-moments while allowing me to sleep peacefully at night. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcWK0M4VMjA 14) The Ring Another film that I haven't seen in a long time. The Ring is about a woman who watches ...
