Book Review #13: Paper Towns by John Green

Image
You probably saw this book (not this exact version) in my book haul. If you haven't seen it, you can read it here ! As you may know, I was a huge fan of 'The Fault In Our Stars' also written by John Green. In a way, I'm annoyed that I read TFIOS first because it raised my expectations for all other books that I will read by him. So, for that reason, I was slightly disappointed with this book. I loved it, and if I had not read TFIOS first, I would have loved it even more than I already do. The book is about Quentin Jacobson and his next-door neighbour Margo Roth Spiegelman. Margo, out of the blue, summons Quentin on an all-night adventure, which leaves him excited and reeling. He has been in love with Margo for years and thinks that tonight will finally be the night, the night when she falls in love with him too. However, this doesn't go to plan. Margo disappears. Quentin is worried, has she been kidnapped, has she been killed? It doesn't seem likely, espe...

The Fault In Our Stars - Film Review

Image
Last night, me and two of my friends went to see 'The Fault In Our Stars' film. I was so excited and was anticipating that I would cry, kind of like how I felt when I was about to read the book. We saw it 4 days after it came out here in the UK (It came out on the 19th) because we wanted to make sure that we were not in a crowded cinema, as the rustling and whispered talking of the people around you will ruin your viewing pleasure, and we were letting nothing ruin TFIOS.   This was my seat in the cinema just before the film started. I was so excited that I took many pictures, but this one was the only one that was light enough for you to actually be able to see anything!   Obviously I've already written a book review for the book, so I won't waste time by repeating the plot to you, but if you want to know the basic plot, check out my book review by clicking here: http://louleecutie.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/review-2-fault-in-our-stars-by-john.html   ...

Book Haul 1!!

I love books. I have too many books and will always choose to buy more rather than to give some away. Since my birthday, in December, until now, I have accumulated so many books that I haven't had a chance to read, so I thought I would use this post to show you some of the books that I have either bought or been given that I haven't had a chance to read.                                                         Joey Essex - Being Reem I am a big fan of TOWIE (The only way is Essex) and I enjoyed watching Joey when he was on it, so  knew that I had to buy his book. Although I haven't read it, I know that, as well as being light-hearted, he also touches on serious issues, such as the dea...

The Youtuber Questions, Awards and Families Tag!!

It's time for another tag! I thought that, as I have been horrible at posting this week, rather than posting a review, I would post something that's a bit more fun and that I could spend a bit of time on. I have independently created a tag that I want as many of you reading to do as possible. I have created 29 questions, strictly about youtubers that fall into 3 categories: Questions based on you, Youtuber Awards and Your YouTube family. Feel free to read through my questions and them do them for your own blogs! As there are a lot of questions, I'll keep my explanations short but feel free to expand on yours! Questions about You! Favourite Female Youtuber? At the moment, my favourite female youtuber is Zoe Sugg (Zoella) as I am addicted to watching her vlogs and she really makes me want to start a youtube channel. She actually inspired me to start this blog. Favourite Male Youtuber? Going hand-in-hand with Zoe Sugg is her brother Joe Sugg. Choosing this was a much...

Book Review #2 - The Fault in our Stars by John Green

Read this!! The Fault in our stars was the third cancer related book that I have ever read, the first being 'Before I die' by Jenny Downham and the second being 'My Sister's Keeper' by Jodi Picoult. When I read Before I die, I didn't think that I would ever read another book with this subject. Then I saw the movie of 'My Sister's Keeper', and after a year of stopping myself, I bought the book and loved every page. But 'The Fault in our stars' was different. I had heard people mentioning it and seen people talking about it on twitter for absolutely ages before I even thought about buying the book. When I picked it up in a Waterstones one day, I didn't even know what it was about, I just knew that I had to read it. I opened the first page and was immediately catapulted into the story of Hazel Grace Lancaster, the main character. The story was set up so that the audience would feel sorry for her, but the best thing about Hazel was that...
