A Baking Day | Muffins and Cookies!

Image
Hey Guys x Sorry I've not posted in a while, it's been a shit week. Plus, I just finished season 4 of Orange Is The New Black and am now an emotional mess! However, my sister and I did some baking this week, so I thought I'd share with you the muffins and monster-cookies we made! Now, I'm not going through this like a recipe, it's literally just a picture post. All the pictures are raw and unedited, so please excuse that! If you want to make them yourself, the recipe for the muffins is from the hummingbird bakery book, and the recipe for the cookies is from Tanya Burr's first book 'Love Tanya', but I'm sure that the same recipe is in her new bakery book 'Tanya Bakes' Thanks so much for reading... or looking! I promise my next post will have a lot more writing and be a lot more substantial. Comment below your favourite thing to bake! Keep Smiling - Lou xx

My Top 10 YouTubers! | 4

Hey Guys x I've done this post three times before, the last was in April last year so it's been a while! I love doing this because it allows you guys (and me) to see how my taste in YouTubers changes from year to year, and this one is particularly different because I've kind of been going off 'mainstream' YouTubers so to speak. And by 'Mainstream' I mean really popular ones with over a million subscribers. There are still some in here, but I'm also hoping to introduce you to some others that you've probably heard of but haven't given a chance! Anyway, without further ado, here are my current top 10 YouTubers! 10: Marcus Butler Subscribers: 4,176,928 Right now, I'm really liking Marcus' second channel, MoreMarcus, where he has been posting different videos every single day. I don't love every video that he does, but there are a few that I really do love, particularly when he reads fanfiction (which, as a fanfic writer myse...

Baking Tanya Burr's Cookies!

Image
Hey Guys x First of all, thank you so much to all the people who left comments on my last post, The Future . All of your comments were lovely and inspiring, and they meant so much to me, so thank you! I have baked cookies before, casually following Tanya's cookie recipe, which you can see here , but I only followed the recipe loosely and, looking back on it, they weren't as good as they could have been. So this week, I had some friends over and we decided to bake her cookies, strictly following the recipe that is in her book - and they turned out great! Ingredients I didn't take pictures of the ingredients because I was distracted by getting everything together and getting all of the equipment, but what you need is: 200g butter 300g caster sugar 1 large egg 325g self raising flour 200g white chocolate 200g milk chocolate The method Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Start by whisking the butter (at room temp) and the sugar until it's ...

My Top 10 Favourite YouTubers | Part 3

Hey Guys x I have done this post twice already. But I realised that I haven't done one this year yet. And as my taste for YouTubers have changed so much within the last year, I thought that I would show you who I'm loving on the YouTube scene right now! It was so hard to decrease this list to just 10, and putting people in a rank order was really hard so don't read into it too much, because I had to leave a lot of my favourite YouTubers off the list! Also, please comment and let me know who you're loving! 10. Jim Chapman   Subscribers: 2,096,168   I am loving Jim at the moment, particularly his daily vlogs. I've said this before, but I just find having a peek at his life really interesting and I love the fact that he shares so much with his viewers! If you don't watch his daily vlogs, you really should!   Favourite Video: Don't Say It (With Tanya Burr)   9. Tanya Burr   Subscribers: 2,886,676   I have also been loving...

Book Review #35: Love, Tanya by Tanya Burr

Image
As a YouTube fan, obviously I picked up this book and read it! I also picked up one for a friend's birthday before I even read it so you could say I have a lot vested in this!   If you're not into YouTubers or have no idea who Tanya Burr is, then you might not be keen to read this book, but keep reading this review because you might find something that you like the sound of.   On first reflection, this book is basically an autobiography. There's things about Tanya's childhood, her upbringing and her relationship with her now-fiancé Jim Chapman. But while reading it and looking at the different chapters, I found that there were many things that weren't particularly about Tanya. Chapters such as make-up essentials, skincare essentials and hair and nail essentials are all chapters that are just giving a bit of information to help out the people that are reading the books. The chapter that really stood out to me, however, was the chapter on 'Confidenc...

My Top 10 YouTubers (Part 2)

My first 'top 10 youtubers' post here  was one of the first posts that I ever wrote, and looking back on it now, it feels weird to know that I didn't know how to put links in or how to close the gaps, and it makes me happy to see how far this blog has come. So I thought that it would only be right for me to update that post and let you see how much my favourites have changed! 10) Tanya Burr   Subscribers: 2,483,670   I love Tanya Burr! She was vlogging though September and she was my favourite YouTuber of the month. I just think that she's really genuine and so funny and bubbly. Although I'm not into make-up, I still watch all of her videos because  I love to watch her!   Favourite video: Baking White and Milk Chocolate Cookies   9) Connor Franta Subscribers: 3,372,914   Next up is Connor Franta. He left the collab channel O2L a few months ago (I think) and I really admired him for being able to make that decision, to do som...
