My Thoughts on Louise 'Quitting' Sprinkle of Glitter

Image
Hey Guys x Sorry for the oddly-named title, I couldn't think of anything else! So if you haven't seen the video in the picture above, I'll put it below. There is also a blog post on the same topic that I'll link here ! Now, I'm paraphrasing the video and post, so sorry if everything I say isn't exactly correct. What I got from this video and blog post was that Louise Pentland doesn't really want to continue to pretend to be something different online from her true self. Not that she's pretending, but 'Sprinkle of Glitter' is her best, clean side, the side that she shows the internet. But in her real life, she swears and talks about sex and other non-PC stuff, and she wants to be able to talk to her viewers like she's talking to a friend without worrying that her channel won't be as 'popular'. She also doesn't want to be seen as a 'family friendly' channel when that's not who she really is. I admir...

My Top 10 YouTubers! | 4

Hey Guys x I've done this post three times before, the last was in April last year so it's been a while! I love doing this because it allows you guys (and me) to see how my taste in YouTubers changes from year to year, and this one is particularly different because I've kind of been going off 'mainstream' YouTubers so to speak. And by 'Mainstream' I mean really popular ones with over a million subscribers. There are still some in here, but I'm also hoping to introduce you to some others that you've probably heard of but haven't given a chance! Anyway, without further ado, here are my current top 10 YouTubers! 10: Marcus Butler Subscribers: 4,176,928 Right now, I'm really liking Marcus' second channel, MoreMarcus, where he has been posting different videos every single day. I don't love every video that he does, but there are a few that I really do love, particularly when he reads fanfiction (which, as a fanfic writer myse...

October Favourites | 2015

Image
Hey Guys x I haven't done a lot of posts this month, but one thing that I definitely could not miss was my October Favourites, especially as I have so many amazing things to share with you guys this month! I hope some of my favourites can become your favourites too! Favourite Movie: The Visit This movie... omg. If you're not one for jump scares, avoid this! But if you're a fan of horror, or anything a bit scary, watch this because it's one of the best horror movies that I've seen. I got it on a whim after hearing about it from a friend, and I am so glad that she told me about it because me, my sister, and my mum all loved it. Even my dad, who hates horror movies, enjoyed it, so give it a chance! Favourite TV Show: Impractical Jokers This show is amazing. Completely amazing and without a doubt the funniest thing on TV right now! It's about four high-school friends who basically embarrass each other by setting them different tasks involving the gener...

Book Review #39: Life With a Sprinkle Of Glitter by Louise Pentland

Image
Hey Guys x I can't believe this is my 40th book review! That's crazy! Anyway, if you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know how much I love and am inspired by Louise Pentland, aka Sprinkle Of Glitter. So you'd have thought I would have bought this book as soon as it came out. However, as much as I'm on #TeamInternet, to buy all of their products you have to spend a lot of money! And I can't afford to spend bucket loads on them just because their YouTubers. But Louise's was always at the top of my list, until I read amazon reviews that said that you shouldn't buy it if you've over 14. So I didn't. Then I thought: I love Louise, her videos cater to an older audience, why wouldn't her book? So I took a chance and bought it - and I'm so happy I did! Anyway, the book is about Louise and her life, but more than that, it has a lot of advice and helpful suggestions. The four main sections are 'Glitz', 'Cr...

July Favourites! | 2015

Image
Hey Guys x Time again to write one of my favourite posts, where I show you all of the things that I have been completely loving this month! As I always say, I hope that some of my favourites become your favourites too! Favourite Movie: Insidious 3 If you don't know yet, I love horror movies! As soon as this came out, I watched it because I really enjoyed the first two insidious films. I honestly didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I was watching it with my mum and we were both jumping out of our skins every 5 minutes - the film has a lot of great jump scares, which is what I love about horror movies. You don't have to see the first two to watch this one as it occurs before them. Although I have to say, if you're not a big fan of horror movies, you may not want to watch this film. Favourite TV Show: The Vampire Diaries When I was doing my exams in June, I stopped watching this so that I could focus on revising. I had just started season 2 so I wasn...

My Top 10 Favourite YouTubers | Part 3

Hey Guys x I have done this post twice already. But I realised that I haven't done one this year yet. And as my taste for YouTubers have changed so much within the last year, I thought that I would show you who I'm loving on the YouTube scene right now! It was so hard to decrease this list to just 10, and putting people in a rank order was really hard so don't read into it too much, because I had to leave a lot of my favourite YouTubers off the list! Also, please comment and let me know who you're loving! 10. Jim Chapman   Subscribers: 2,096,168   I am loving Jim at the moment, particularly his daily vlogs. I've said this before, but I just find having a peek at his life really interesting and I love the fact that he shares so much with his viewers! If you don't watch his daily vlogs, you really should!   Favourite Video: Don't Say It (With Tanya Burr)   9. Tanya Burr   Subscribers: 2,886,676   I have also been loving...

Louise Pentland Inspires Me

Image
I have wanted to write this post for so long! I'm so glad to finally be writing it! But first of all, let me just apologise for not posting last night, due to an array of factors that left me feeling a bit shitty. Anyway, back to Louise. I first watched Louise after seeing her with her best friend Zoe (aka Zoella) and I didn't instantly love her. She seemed so bubbly and confident, and just so different from me. So I wasn't sure about her, but I still decided to watch some of her videos and give her a chance. I then fell in love with her after watching her 'Draw My Life' For me, when I am watching YouTubers, I am 100% fully aware that I am a viewer who knows nothing about them, which is why I don't really judge them. But watching Louise's 'Draw My Life' really opened her up to me. I won't go into too much detail, but she talks about the death of her mother, as well as the abuse that she suffered due to her first step-mother, how she...

December Favourites!

Image
I had my first day off blogging all month yesterday, and I spent all day wishing that I was blogging! Anyway, I have a lot of plans for 2015, and the days leading up to it (blogging every day... I know I've already done blogmas, but I might as well end December in the way I began it!), so let's kick of the next 4 blogging days with my December Favourites! Favourite Movie: Back To The Future   This movie is one of 3 of my all-time favourite movies, but it is also in my December Favourites. With me, I can never watch my favourite movies a lot because it evokes all of these different feelings and I have to really be in the mood to sit down with no distractions and watch it. So I watched this for the first time in months last week and it was just as amazing as I remembered it. If you haven't seen this, I really urge you to watch it.   Favourite TV Show: Sex And The City   I think I have mentioned this in a 'Favourites' before, but I have been ...
