Blogmas Day 18: Birthday Baking!

Image
Hey Guys x Yes, my birthday was just under a week ago, however, yesterday was the day when I celebrated with my uni friends. I had two of them over, and they're both amazing bakers, so when deciding what we would do, of course I wanted to see them bake! The one requirement that I had was, whatever we made had to be iced in the shape of Captain America's Shield. So they came over, and spent the majority of the day baking, in between eating pizza and watching game shows, and it was so much fun! And when the cakes were done and the icing went on, I was so impressed that I had to immediately get my camera out and snap some pictures, so that you can see how amazingly talented my friends are and how delicious these cakes looked!  Real Shield  Cupcake Shield   Pretty amazing if I say so myself, considering we didn't have blue icing or a star-shaped cutter. Or any cutters for that matter! For the circles we had to use different shapes objects (like the cover o...

Baking Brownies!

Hey Guys x As soon as my sister went on holiday two weeks ago, we decided that we would bake something. As I baked cookies  a week or so before, we decided that we'd bake brownies instead! So we found a recipe from the BBC goodfood website  and made the brownies, and they were completely delicious! So, obviously I was taking pictures throughout so I could show you guys how to make these brownies too, and what they turned out like. Enjoy! The Ingredients 85g plain flour 275g caster sugar 185g unsalted butter 40g cocoa powder 3 large eggs 185g dark chocolate, 50g milk chocolate, 50g white chocolate The Method Cut both the butter and dark chocolate into small pieces and put them in a bowl. Melt them together by placing the bowl over a saucepan 1/4 filled with boiling water (on a low heat), stirring quite often. make sure the bowl isn't touching the water. o...

Hey Guys x First of all, thank you so much to all the people who left comments on my last post, The Future . All of your comments were lovely and inspiring, and they meant so much to me, so thank you! I have baked cookies before, casually following Tanya's cookie recipe, which you can see here , but I only followed the recipe loosely and, looking back on it, they weren't as good as they could have been. So this week, I had some friends over and we decided to bake her cookies, strictly following the recipe that is in her book - and they turned out great! Ingredients I didn't take pictures of the ingredients because I was distracted by getting everything together and getting all of the equipment, but what you need is: 200g butter 300g caster sugar 1 large egg 325g self raising flour 200g white chocolate 200g milk chocolate The method Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Start by whisking the butter (at room temp) and the sugar until it's ...
