Book Review #107: With This Kiss by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Image
I'm a huge fan of Carrie Hope Fletcher as an actress/singer/YouTuber, and I have read all of her YA/Adult books so far. Some of her books I've really liked and some I haven't, mainly the last two, so I was a bit wary about this one. But ultimately, I felt like the idea of this book was one that I'd probably enjoy. Lorelai has a secret - whenever she kisses someone on the lips, she sees how they will die. To solve this problem, Lorelai has decided never to kiss anyone again. But then she meets Grayson, the first man she has wanted to kiss in years. Can she kiss Grayson? And if she does, can she change what she sees? While I enjoyed reading this story, there is a lot more that I disliked about the book than liked. Having said that, it's still one of my favourites of Carrie's. From the first page of the book, the sentence structures are weird. Some sentences run on too long without commas, and others stop short. It reads like it probably needed one more once-over b

Book Review #79: In The Time We Lost by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Image
Hey Guys x I've made it no secret that I'm a huge fan of Carrie Hope Fletcher. I followed her on YouTube before I even knew that YouTubers were a thing, and I've bought physical copies of every book she's written. I even have two of 'All That She Can See' (one hardback and one signed paperback), so there was no way that I wasn't going to read this book - which I had pre-ordered well before it came out. After facing more tragedy than the average person, Luna has left home for the quiet Scottish town of Ondingside, where she can keep herself to herself and write her next novel. But Luna finds that she can't be as inconspicuous as she wants to be in a town where she is the only new resident. And when a freak July snow storm causes the whole town to stand still in more ways than one, will Luna find more than just a novel in Ondingside? I really wanted to like this book. In fact, I wanted to love it. And I didn't, at all. It feels almost unfair

Book Review #55: When The Curtain Falls by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Image
Hey Guys x Sorry it's been so long since my last review! I spent the month before reading this, re-reading the 'Twilight' book series and falling back in love with it. Yeah, it might be bad or problematic to some, but it's a great piece of escapism and I'm glad that I had the time to read it again. But then, I got started with this one. If you've read my blog in the past, you might know that I'm a huge fan of Carrie Hope Fletcher as a person and a YouTuber, but this is going to be a completely unbiased review. This book is about a play called 'When The Curtain Falls' that is taking place in two different times. The first time the production is done, we follow the love story of Fawn and Walter, an actress and the man that works behind the scenes. Their relationship is kept a secret and the fear of being caught is high. But in the theatre, nothing stays secret for long, and a tragedy happens as a result. 70 years later and the production is ba

Book Review #46: On The Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Image
Hey Guys x One thing I have to make clear before writing this is that, I'm reviewing this book not as a fan of Carrie Hope Fletcher, but as a fan of books and romance. Now, I loved this book, for so many reasons! One of the main reasons for my love of this story is that, it holds the type of magical love that you never thought could happen in real life. It's not even movie love or fiction love - it's magic. That's the only way to describe it. Evie Snow has died. However, when she gets to her own personal branch of heaven, she realises that the door won't open. This is because Evie is still holding onto things from the world, secrets to be more exact. Three secrets that are weighing down her soul and making it impossible for her to live her eternal bliss. So, with the help of an old friend and some dear memories, Evie must enter the world once again, to unburden her heart of these secrets. But will she be willing to let these secrets go? And if she does, wi

I've Made It?

Hey Guys x I'm putting this up mega early today because, if I wait until 5 and then forget to upload one more time, I'm going to be really annoyed with myself! First of all, I need to apologise for my lack of blog posts for the last few weeks. I wrote a mega-long post explaining why I've not been posting as much, but chickened out and deleted it! But hopefully they'll be many more posts to come from me very soon! This post is a response to a Carrie Hope Fletcher video, that you can watch below! In the video, she talks about 'making it', about getting her dream roles and how dangerous it is to become complacent because one or more aspects of your life are going really well. And I completely agree with everything she said - but I do have to admit, this is definitely something that I do. You know how most people procrastinate? Put things off until they have no choice but to do them? Well, I do that, but a lot of the time, I also find myself giving

My Top 10 YouTubers! | 4

Image
Hey Guys x I've done this post three times before, the last was in April last year so it's been a while! I love doing this because it allows you guys (and me) to see how my taste in YouTubers changes from year to year, and this one is particularly different because I've kind of been going off 'mainstream' YouTubers so to speak. And by 'Mainstream' I mean really popular ones with over a million subscribers. There are still some in here, but I'm also hoping to introduce you to some others that you've probably heard of but haven't given a chance! Anyway, without further ado, here are my current top 10 YouTubers! 10: Marcus Butler Subscribers: 4,176,928 Right now, I'm really liking Marcus' second channel, MoreMarcus, where he has been posting different videos every single day. I don't love every video that he does, but there are a few that I really do love, particularly when he reads fanfiction (which, as a fanfic writer mys

Life Lessons From Disney Princes!

Image
Hey Guys x I haven't done a Disney post in ages, and I've really missed doing them! Carrie Fletcher did a video called 'Disney Princess Lessons' in which she talked about all of the lessons that we learn from the princesses of Disney. And it was an idea that I really loved and wanted to replicate for my blog. However, if I did it about Disney Princesses, I would literally be writing exactly what Carrie said, so there would be no point. So I've decided to do it about Disney Princes! For me, the men of the Disney world are really underrated, with the princesses taking centre stage, which is awesome! But we can't forget about the guys that these girls fall in love with! The Prince 'The Prince' otherwise known as 'Prince Ferdinand' was the first Disney Prince, falling in love with Snow White towards the end of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. He teaches us that you can fall in love with anyone at any time. Love is subject

Tall Poppies and Jealousy

Image
Hey Guys x This post is partly a response to Carrie Hope Fletcher's video 'Tall Poppies', which you can watch below:      She talks about 'Tall Poppy Syndrome'.   Tall Poppy Syndrome means 'a social phenomenon in which people of genuine merit are resented, attacked, cut down, or criticised because their talents or achievements elevate them above or distinguish them from their peers' according to Wikipedia.   However, Carrie added more to this definition. She said that it was when someone encourages their friend to do well in life, but then resents them if they do better than they wanted them to.   For example, if you and your best friend are both aspiring writers and you encourage your friend to try and get something published, just as they do to you, as most friends would do. However, if you both try to get something published and your friend makes it and you don't, you then feel jealous of them and resent them for this.

Book Review #36: All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Image
Hey Guys x Before I start the review, I just want to tell you that I've now put social media buttons into my blog on the right hand side for my twitter, google+, email and bloglovin', so hopefully it's easier for you to follow me (if that's what you want to do!) Anyway, back to the review! I read this book when it first came out, because I was just so excited to read a book by Carrie Hope Fletcher! She's now announced that she's writing a fiction novel which is coming out next year and I am so excited to read that! This book is exactly what it says on the cover, Carrie's 'Wonderings and reflections on growing up gracefully'. In other words, she's writing about some mistakes that she made while growing up, and giving her advice on the best way to not make the same mistakes that she did. For example, in 'Act 2' (because her book is set up as if it's a play - which comes from her theatre background!) she has two chapters, one c

April Favourites | 2015

Image
Hey Guys x I have been doing 'Favourites' posts for a year! That's so incredible to me! If you didn't notice, in the bar above this post, you can check out all of my favourites posts in one place, which makes things a bit easier as they are one of the 'posts' that you guys seem to like a lot! Also, I didn't post yesterday because I was posting this today and I didn't want to post 3 days in a row. I also probably won't be posting tomorrow, so the next post from me should be up on Friday! Anyway, let me get on with my favourites! Favourite Movie: The DUFF   I reviewed this movie here and revealed how much I love it! I won't go into what it's about, because you can read the review, but I think it's a really great film and I really do recommend you to see it if you haven't! I also own the book but I haven't even started reading it because more books keep coming into my life that are demanding I read them! Right now, I
