2016 On Lou's World!

Hey Guys x (I repeated one of the pictures in the collage and now it's really bugging me, but I only noticed as I was about to upload this post. Please just ignore it) It's almost the end of 2016, I can't believe this year is done! I had an amazing year blogging! Although I didn't bog as much this year, I hit amazing milestones and did things that I'm really proud of! I wrote my 500th post, hit over 70,000 views, started my 'Like A Writer' series and many more things that I'm really glad I did! I've also had a great time reading other people's blogs, and I definitely will be doing a lot more of this in 2017 because I have not done enough! I want to reach out to more bloggers, to do more collabs etc, but this isn't a New Years Resolution post, that's coming tomorrow. In my personal life, I'm also proud that this was the year that I completed my first year of university and began my second, and that's a weird feelin...

November Favourites! | 2016

Hey Guys x It's time for another Favourites post! I have too many things that I want to talk about this month and I really hope that you fall in love with the things that I've been loving this month! As always, leave your own favourites in the comments so that I can check them out! Favourite Movie: Hell or High Water Yes, my Chris Pine obsession continues greatly, but I have to say that I'd love this film whether he was in it or not. This film is about two brothers who rob banks so that their mother's ranch doesn't go into foreclosure. I could not describe it to be as amazing as it was, but it is such a good film. It's set up like a Western but it is so much more than that. It's dramatic, emotional, funny, it has everything that a good film needs and left me crying at the end - definitely a contender for a 2017 Oscar nomination! Watch this if you haven't because amazing isn't even a good enough word to describe it! Favourite TV Show: How T...

September Favourites! | 2016

Hey Guys x As you can see from the title, today's post is a Favourites post. I'm so excited to share what I've been loving this month with you! Favourite Movie: Star Trek: Into Darkness In all my life, I never thought I was the kind of person who could be obsessed with the Star Trek franchise. However, I am now completely obsessed with the Star Trek reboot, and this is a great addition to the franchise! Benedict Cumberbatch is introduced as a new Villain (Khan) and he does an amazing job. The acting in this is brilliant, but I love that the seriousness is broken up with small, subtle moments of levity and, at times, comedy. Even if you don't think you'd be a fan, definitely give this franchise a chance! Favourite TV Show: Gossip Girl I am loving this right now! I love watching all the rich kids on the Upper East Side and seeing the drama that they get themselves into. Season 2 was incredible, and so I've started watching season 3. I know that this ...

July Favourites! | 2016

Hey Guys x So as you've probably guessed, it's time for another Favourites post! Let me know what your favourites are this month! Favourite Movie: The Shallows I watched this a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a huge fan of shark movies, just because they tend to be unrealistic, however, I really enjoyed this one! I'm a huge fan of the main/only actress Blake Lively, and it was nice to see her in a different role to anything she's done before. If you want me to do a full review of this, let me know in the comments! Favourite TV Show 1: Orange Is The New Black If you've seen my blog post on my reaction to season 4 of the show, or you've watched the show yourself, you'll know why I love it. I've spoken about this show far too much already this month to go too far into it now - but I really do love it! Favourite TV Show 2: Marvel's Jessica Jones I spoke about this already last month when I had seen a fe...

My 2016 Summer Reading List!

Image
Hey Guys x This might seem a little early for summer, given that it's still the beginning of May. However, my summer officially begins next week! I am so excited to have nothing to do! I honestly don't think I've read a book for leisure since I began uni which is crazy, so picking these books was really fun! I did a post like this last summer, and I failed! I only got through 4 1/2 of the 11 books that I wanted to read over the summer - so this year, I want to beat my record! So I've chosen different books this time around (even though I haven't read most of the ones from last year!), and I'll give you a brief description of them. Nobody's Girl and Ten Things We Shouldn't Have Done These are the two books that I always start my summer off with. They are my favourite books in the entire world, so I make sure that I read them both at least once a year. They're both coming of age novels that are really fun and adventurous. I talked ab...

April Favourites! | 2016

Image
Hey Guys x Time again for another Favourites post! It feels weird - because of guest week, I've only personally written like, 5 posts, since the last favourties! April has been a busy month, so I must warn you that this is probably the longest 'Favourites' post that I've ever written! Sit back, relax and enjoy! Favourite Movie 1: Miss You Already I don't know when this film came out, but I only watched it this month and I completely fell in love with it! It's about two lifelong best friends, Milly and Jess. Their lives are heading in different directions but they always make time for each other. However, things get complicated with Milly discovers that she has cancer and Jess finds out that she's pregnant. The friend's lives are pulled apart and they're forced to work out why they're friends in the first place. This film is so touching and I really really enjoyed it. It doesn't take on the roll of a 'cancer film' for me,...
