Captain America: The First Avenger | 100 Movies Bucket List

I was really excited for this one. This is my favourite origin story in the entire MCU, and my favourite trilogy. But while I watch the second and third movies a lot, I don't really go back to this one, so it was nice to see it on the list. And as usual, with every time I watch this movie, I loved it. It starts in a really interesting place, already setting up for the future of the franchise as well as laying the groundwork for the characters we'll be interested in for years to come. Speaking of characters, Steve Rogers is such a fascinating one. The film really gives us the opportunity to get to know exactly who he is and what his motivations are. Before he even starts to become a 'hero' we are rooting for him and invested in his story.  But of course, the characterisation makes it clear that he's a hero before he becomes one, and that's one of the reasons I love this story so much. Particularly looking at earlier superhero movies, for me Steve is one of the ...

New Captain America, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), finds himself at the centre of an international disaster. But can he find the true mastermind before it's too late? I'll admit I haven't kept up with the MCU post-endgame, but with the current slate of new movies I'm really excited to get back into it.  I tried to ignore reviews and go into this film with no expectations, and I ended up liking it. It was particularly great seeing Mackie, Ramirez and Lumbly reprise their roles from the 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' TV show. Mackie and Ramirez had great chemistry, which was really fun to watch. But as good as the actors were, it would have been nice to get to know some of these characters a bit better, especially if you never saw the show. The story was genuinely an interesting one...

Captain America: Civil War | Film Review

Hey Guys x So, if you regularly read my blog, you'll know how much of a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan I am, and if you follow me on twitter, you'll know that I went to see this movie yesterday. I gave a mini twitter review over the course of a few tweets, which you can see below (read from the bottom up): So I thought that I'd expand on that and give you a lot more detail about the film. And of course, I won't be posting any spoilers because, if I had heard any spoilers before I saw it, it would have completely ruined the experience for me. So if you want to get the best experience, try to avoid spoilers! I'm assuming that if you want to see this film, you have knowledge of the MCU, so I won't waste time explaining characters or anything. So, after a series of events, which have led to the deaths of civilians, the team are being reprimanded by the government. They want the Avengers to be put in check, to have someone to answer to, and for s...
