Margaux | Film Review

I had never heard of this film when it came out on the Sky Premiere channel. But the premise definitely had potential, either to be good, or so bad it's good, so I really wanted to check it out. When a group of friends rent a smart house for a weekend, they realise that the house's advanced AI system, Margaux, has sinister plans for them. I didn't know what to expect from this film, and while I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it, I can also acknowledge that it wasn't that good. The opening felt very comedic, and I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be. And this was definitely a theme throughout the film - from the way Margaux spoke, to the things that happened, I couldn't always decide if it was supposed to be funny or not. The characters are fine, though none are developed particularly well. But the story is heavily plot-based, so in some ways the characters don't matter that much.
