Girl Talk: If Life Were A Movie

This is going to be a short, slightly discombobulated post, nevertheless I can't wait to post it!

As girls, we have to admit, we've all had that thought when something goes wrong: "I wish this was a dream, I wish this could just end, why is this happening to me?" and this is completely normal. I have these thoughts at least twice a day and it doesn't get any easier.

However, if our lives were movies, would we have the best lives?
Which genre would you want your life to be?

Action



The best mix of danger and fun. You'll have to risk your life in more ways than one, but it will all work out in the end. You're the main character, and the main character never dies.

Comedy

 
A laugh a minute, this is the genre for you if you enjoy laughing and making other people laugh. There is no life-risking involved and, at the end of the day, the first person laughing is the last person to stop.
 

Crime

 
Fancy being a detective? Join the crew! You get to solve crimes and find the killer, which will always happen in the end. Provided you're not the victim, this could be an exciting life... If you can make it to the end of the movie!
 

Horror

 
This is probably the worst life to have! Even the main character can get killed and there's no guarantee that the killer will be found! It's not fun and you might not come out alive, but the rush might make it worth it (If you're into that sort of thing!)
 

Si-Fi

 
If you're a bit scientific and a bit geeky, this is completely the genre for you! It's the most versatile, there's no set plot for a Si-fi movie, which in a way is kind of like real life, you choose your own life!
 

Romance

 
This is definitely my preferred genre. I am a romantic and I believe that, if my life was a movie, romance would be the place that I could see myself. Who doesn't want to be pursued by a hot guy, fall in love and (eventually) life happily ever after?
 

Disney

 
Obviously if romance wasn't my genre, Disney would be the one that I would choose. What girl doesn't want to be a Disney princess? They get a crown, have the perfect life, and get to marry a Disney prince? What's more could you want?

Young Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) tries to follow his dreams to become a respected chocolatier, despite opposition at every turn . This film was never particularly high on my 'to-watch' list, but it was always on my radar, so I'm glad I've finally seen it. Scarface (1983) | 100 Movies Bucket List

Next up for the Bucket List was another first-time watch! I'd seen the original 1932 film years ago and really liked it, but I never got around to watching this (undoubtedly more popular) version, so I'm glad it was on the list. I really really liked this movie. I'm not sure if I like it more than, or the same as the original, but I definitely had a great time with it. One thing about finally seeing all these classic movies is seeing how much impact they've had on pop culture, and this film is definitely no exception. It's so quotable, there are so many iconic images, and it's one that everyone should watch if they haven't seen it before. The most talked-about aspect of this film is probably the violence, and that's so interesting to see. Not only the way it's spoken about, but also the difference between violence in older films like this and newer releases. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it. American Psycho | 100 Movies Bucket List

This one was a re-watch. I'd seen this film once before watching it for the Bucket List. My memories of it weren't wholly positive - I didn't love the first watch, and while I didn't hate it, it wasn't a film that I was itching to watch again. Though saying that, I knew that I probably would watch it again eventually, because I knew how much of a classic it was. Like a lot of films I've watched for the Bucket List, I liked it more this time around than I did the first time, though I still didn't love it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I did really enjoy it. The writing was great and Christian Bale was amazing in the role, as were the supporting actors. For me, though, the most iconic thing about this movie is its soundtrack. The songs used are amazing and fit the movie so well. The Matrix | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Next up for the Bucket List was a first-time watch. This is one that I had obviously heard of but knew next to nothing about. I found that it took a long time for me to connect with the story, and even then, while the film was interesting to watch, I never felt particularly invested in it. There were a lot of recognisable, iconic moments that I appreciated, and I get how much of an impact it had on sci-fi (and probably movies in general), but I don't know if it was for me. I somewhat enjoyed it, I understood everything that happened, but never felt connected, and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. It could just be that I need to re-watch it, and I probably will, but for a first watch, I didn't take to it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I'm glad I finally watched it!
