Girl Talk: The Perfect Man

Don't we all want the perfect man?

Sorry that this post came late, revising for A-levels has completely taken it's toll on my blogging.

This is not a movie review! I have seen this movie as it is one of my favourites and it made me think about what girls tend to look for in guys. Most of us picture the perfect man. The trouble is, we all think the perfect man is something different.

Some of us think the perfect man is tall, others short. Some of us think the perfect man is blond, others brunette. The only thing we have in common, is that we all want him.

Personally, I believe that all versions of the perfect man exist, and that most of us will find him in one way or another. However, a problem with this view is our expectations of men.

We all believe that we want the perfect man, and we do! Life is too short to waste our time on someone who isn't right for us. However, are our standards too high?

We'll dump a guy who's not the right height, a guy with a crap job, a guy with a horrible fashion sense. What most of us don't realise is that, out of every guy that we ever date in our lives, 100% of them will have at least one flaw. Why are we so quick to judge guys on this one flaw? Because we deserve the best, the one person with no flaws. But we shouldn't hold our breath, because he doesn't exist!

For this post, I'm not going to tell you how to find the perfect man, I'm going to give you tips on how to find your perfect man.

Tips to find your perfect man:

Know who you are:

This includes flaws. You can't find someone to love you for you if you don't know who you are. You need to accept yourself. Know your likes and dislikes, and own your flaws. That's right, own them! Everyone has things that they're uncomfortable about, but if you ignore them, they'll only get bigger. Once you have accepted your flaws, no one can use them against you.

Don't ignore his flaws:

The same goes for him, if you ignore his flaws, they'll just get bigger in your head. If you want to make your relationship work, you have to accept your other half, flaws especially. Flaws are what make them who they are, nobody's perfect.

Don't move too fast:
Don't expect to find your perfect man as soon as you start to look for him. It could take years for you to meet the person that completes you, but don't give up looking just because it takes a long time. Your only young once, but your young for long enough to make a few mistakes, you're human.
