3 Month Favourites | January - March 2026

It's time again for my first favourites post of the year! Favourite Movie (1): Oscar Nominees The first two months of the year were spent trying to catch up on every Best Picture nominee before the Oscars in March, and after the Oscars, a couple of re-watches. So I saw almost all of these movies either again or for the first time between January and March, and it reminded me all over again how good last year was for movies!  Favourite Movie (2): Good Boy I'll be putting up a review of this one soon, but I really loved this film - I think moreso because I'd been told that it was bad. So I went in with low expectations and was really pleasantly surprised! It's definitely worth a watch, particularly for horror fans. Favourite Movie (3): Dressed to Kill I've been enjoying my horror-themed bucket list so much this year, and this was the first of the bucket list movies to get 5 stars, so it had to be included in this post. I wrote about it HERE   and I can't wait to ...

And just like that, it's time to think about what I've been loving this whole year! Favourite Film (1): Weapons It was such a great year for film, so it was really hard to narrow down my favourites, but this one was probably the easiest choice. I reviewed this film HERE , and it's absolutely my favourite film of the year. I loved everything about it and with three re-watches, it's been better each time! Favourite Film (2): The Life of Chuck This was the other contender for the top spot. I reviewed this HERE , and while I put Weapons at number one through pure enjoyment and originality, this film is definitely the one that had the biggest effect on me. Of all the films I've got as favourites, this is the one that deserves so much more love! Favourite Film (3): One Battle After Another This is probably the most popular movie I've picked. I reviewed it HERE  after seeing so many positive reviews and they were all completely true because this was such a good film! ...

3 Month Favourites | October - December 2025

I always try to keep the Oct-Dec favourites post on the shorter side because I've got a longer one going up tomorrow, but I still managed to find 10 things/people to write about! Favourite Movie (1): The Long Walk I've got a review of this going up in the new year so I won't say too much here, but I wasn't expecting to like this film as much as I did, so it was definitely a pleasant surprise. It's worth watching if you haven't seen it yet, though it won't be for everyone! Favourite Movie (2): Wicked: For Good And in contrast, one that I knew I'd probably like. Again, a review is going up in the new year but after hearing mixed reviews I was a bit apprehensive. But thankfully I really liked it. I know the play well so I knew what I was getting into and it completely met my expectations in a great way. Favourite Movie (3): The Running Man And what was probably my biggest surprise of the last few months! I hadn't heard great things so I didn't rush...

3 Month Favourites | July - September 2025

Time for another Favourites post! Favourite Film (1): Weapons Of course this one was the first on the list. I reviewed it HERE , and it's my favourite film of the year so far - don't be surprised to see it on my favourites list for the whole of 2025! I loved it so much, and after three watches, it just gets better and better! Favourite Film (2): The Life of Chuck And here's my second favourite film of the year so far! I reviewed it HERE and I loved it in a completely different way than Weapons. Weapons is an awesome, original, creatively unique horror movie. The Life of Chuck is a stunning, life-affirming, powerful drama. And while I gave Weapons a slight edge here, The Life of Chuck had a much deeper impact on me, and it was a joy to watch and recommend. Favourite TV Show (1): Shameless (US) After starting The Bear and loving it, I wanted to see the whole cast in some of their other projects. I'd heard of this show due to the UK version, but had never watched it. I p...

3 Month Favourites | April - June 2025

I can't believe we're already into summer - it feels like ages since my last Favourites post! Favourite Film (1): Final Destination: Bloodlines I was having trouble deciding which film to put first between this one and the next on the list. Ultimately while I enjoyed both films equally, I had a bit more fun with this one than the other, just because I came into the film already so invested in the world. I reviewed the film HERE  - I really loved it and thought it was a great addition to the franchise. Hopefully there will be more to come! Favourite Film (2): Sinners I reviewed this film HERE , and made no secret of the fact that I loved it. I've since seen it a couple more times since my first viewing and each watch is as good as the first. Definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it! Favourite Film (3): Freaky Tales I'm reviewing this one so I won't say too much here, but this film was so unexpectedly great! I had no idea what it was about going in, but I ...

So we're into April, and it feels like ages since my 2024 Favourites post! Thankfully I've collected some great things to write about. Favourite Movie (1): Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy I reviewed this film HERE  and wrote about how much I absolutely loved it. I haven't had a chance to watch it again yet but I can't wait - I really think this was the best of the 4! Favourite Movie (2): The Wild Robot I haven't reviewed this film, but I ended up watching it because it was nominated for an Oscar. I didn't expect to feel anything negative or positive about it, and I ended up loving it so much! It was such a beautiful, emotional, incredible film that I'd definitely recommend to as many people as possible. Favourite Film (3): Companion I have a review of this going up soon, so I won't say too much here, but I really loved this film and I can't wait to watch it again! Favourite TV Show (1): Genius: MLK/X This is the only new TV show I've watched so ...

2024 Favourites!

Image
This post feels like it comes around quicker and quicker every year and I love writing it - especially because I've loved so many things this year. So here are my 2024 Favourites! Favourite Film (1): Deadpool and Wolverine I reviewed this film HERE . At the beginning of the year, I never expected that this would be my favourite film. I have enjoyed the Deadpool movies and the X-Men movies, but I've never had a cinema experience as fun as this one. And thankfully the film is still just as good watching from home. I've now seen it 3 or 4 times since it was released on Disney+ and I love it more and more each time. Definitely my film of the year! Favourite Film (2): Blink Twice I reviewed this one HERE  and this was probably the biggest surprise, in that I didn't really like it at the beginning and by the end I was completely in love with it. And after watching it again and completely understanding why everything happens the way it does, I think this is a really fantastic ...
