Love at First Sight | Film Review
This movie came out on Netflix a few weeks ago. I didn't know much about it, but because I like both of the main actors I was interested in seeing it.
When Hadley (Haley Lu Richardson) and Oliver (Ben Hardy) meet on a flight, fall for each other, and then get separated, what are the chances of them ever seeing each other again?
I liked this film. It was essentially what you'd expect from a plot like this, but it was still really enjoyable.
I really like the characters, both separately and together. Together they're fun and have good chemistry, but apart they are both well-written and feel authentic.
The stakes aren't high, but it's fun to watch them fall in love.
It's much more heart-warming than I first expected. The film definitely makes you care about the characters more than you think you will.
The film has more substance than the average rom-com, but it doesn't pack the emotional punch it wants to. You can understand why the characters are affected, but the events don't really affect the audience.
It's nothing ground-breaking, but it's light, fun, sweet and really cute.
The only thing about this film that I really didn't like was the title - it's based on a book called 'The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight' and that would have been a much better title.
Overall this film was fine. It's cute, fun and light-hearted. Definitely worth watching if you're in the mood for romance.
6/10
