The film is called 'Mask of Satan' on the bucket list poster and I actually prefer that name!

I'd never heard of this film before seeing it on the bucket list, but the premise looked really interesting so I was looking forward to seeing it.

I liked this film, but I feel like the idea of it was better than the execution, at least for me.

Witches and witchcraft are always interesting genres for horror movies, and there's definitely not enough of them on the list. But combining that with revenge and female rage is such a great idea and makes for a satisfying watch.

But this film also manages to be a vampire movie, which turns the typical witch movie on its head. I probably would have preferred it to lean further into the witch aspect but I appreciate the way these are mixed.

I wanted to see a lot more of the female characters. Their stories carried the film, so I wanted to know as much about them as possible. And while we do follow them, it wasn't enough for my liking.

The visuals and imagery is really powerful, and created so well. From the very beginning, we're able to really see and feel the pain the characters are in, to the point where it's hard to watch. They make the film feel original and horrifying, which really works for the story.

And that includes the locations and sets. The designs and architecture are so beautiful that you can't help but notice it. In some scenes it's actually more fun to watch the background than the characters!

There aren't a lot of gothic horror films on the bucket list, and it's not a genre that I've had a ton of experience with. This one seemed to be a great representation of the genre, so I'm glad it was on the list. It seems like a great introduction to Gothic horror.

It's not the kind of film where you can get to know the characters, as you're not really watching to see who they are as people. That can make it a bit hard to connect with, and as a result less enjoyable. While I didn't feel like I needed to know who these characters were as people, I also don't feel like I connected with them enough to enjoy the film as much as I wanted to.

At times it felt like the film strayed from the main plot that I was most interested in, which did make my interest start to wane, particularly as we got closer to the conclusion.

So, while I really appreciate a lot of what this film did, I didn't like it as much as I wanted to.
