3 Month Favourites | July - September 2025
Time for another Favourites post!
Favourite Film (1): Weapons
Of course this one was the first on the list. I reviewed it HERE, and it's my favourite film of the year so far - don't be surprised to see it on my favourites list for the whole of 2025! I loved it so much, and after three watches, it just gets better and better!
Favourite Film (2): The Life of Chuck
And here's my second favourite film of the year so far! I reviewed it HERE and I loved it in a completely different way than Weapons. Weapons is an awesome, original, creatively unique horror movie. The Life of Chuck is a stunning, life-affirming, powerful drama. And while I gave Weapons a slight edge here, The Life of Chuck had a much deeper impact on me, and it was a joy to watch and recommend.
Favourite TV Show (1): Shameless (US)
After starting The Bear and loving it, I wanted to see the whole cast in some of their other projects. I'd heard of this show due to the UK version, but had never watched it. I put on the first episode and completely fell in love with the story and these characters, and I had no idea how popular it was! I'm only on season 2, so it's still new to me, but it's already become one of my favourites.
Favourite TV Show (2): The Office (US)
And from a new favourite to an old one! I caught the end of an episode in the last season on TV, and that made me want to start the show all over again, and I did, and it was a great decision because I'm having so much fun watching it again! It's definitely one of my top comfort shows!Favourite Song (1): Survive
It's not often that I get to know new music outside of movie soundtracks, but somehow this one made it through to me and I completely fell in love with it. It's the most beautiful song, definitely worth a listen (or 100 listens, as that's probably how many times I've heard it now!)
Favourite Actor (1): Josh Brolin
I got really into Josh Brolin after watching Weapons. I rewatched my favourite of his movies (The Goonies, Avengers Infinity War/Endgame, No Country for Old Men), found new loves (Hollow Man, Flirting with Disaster, Men in Black III), read his memoir and just gained a newfound respect for him. I love too many of his movies to mention them all here, but his filmography speaks for itself!
Favourite Actor (2): Dave Franco and Alison Brie
With the amount of great movies coming out, there have been some awesome press tour interviews. And I think my favourite press tour has definitely been the one for 'Together'. While I didn't love the movie, I always love seeing these two promoting anything. They're so much fun to watch! Even if you have no intention of seeing the film, definitely check out some of their promotion for it.
And those are my current favourites - I've found a lot of amazing things to love in the last few months!
