Next up for the Bucket List was a first-time watch.

This is one that I had obviously heard of but knew next to nothing about.

I found that it took a long time for me to connect with the story, and even then, while the film was interesting to watch, I never felt particularly invested in it.

There were a lot of recognisable, iconic moments that I appreciated, and I get how much of an impact it had on sci-fi (and probably movies in general), but I don't know if it was for me.

I somewhat enjoyed it, I understood everything that happened, but never felt connected, and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

It could just be that I need to re-watch it, and I probably will, but for a first watch, I didn't take to it as much as I wanted to.

But that being said, I'm glad I finally watched it!

Bridget Jones ( Renée Zellweger)  is back, and navigating life as a single mother and widow when she unexpectedly finds herself getting back into the dating scene. I was looking forward to seeing this film. I've seen the previous Bridget Jones movies, and while I wouldn't say they're huge favourites of mine, they're all a fun watch, and the first two are really nostalgic, so I was interested to see where Bridget would end up in this one. Platoon | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Next up for the bucket list was a first-time watch. There are fewer war/military-based movies on this year's bucket list compared to last year, which I'm kind of happy about because it's not my favourite genre. That being said, I'm glad that the ones included are classics, as I probably wouldn't have watched them otherwise, and this one is no different! I didn't know much about this film other than hearing about it in passing. So I was really surprised to see the cast! There are so many iconic actors in this film - including Willem Dafoe, Forest Whitaker, Charlie Sheen, Keith David and Tony Todd, and they were all amazing in their roles. I've read that the film is based on the writer/director's real experiences and this makes sense because the film feels really authentic and real. Where Rainbows End vs. Love, Rosie | Film and Book Review

I've just finished reading 'Where Rainbows End' by Cecelia Ahern, and immediately had to watch the movie version, 'Love, Rosie'. The reason that I've decided to talk about them together, as opposed to only reviewing the book, is mainly because I didn't have enough to say about the book on its own to justify reviewing it. Alex (Sam Claflin) and Rosie (Lily Collins) have been best friends since childhood. But when they turn 18 and their paths start to diverge, they realise how much they need each other. I love the idea of this story. Whether in book or movie form, the idea of childhood best friends realising that they were always meant for each other is something that I'm really into. The book version of this story is written entirely of notes, emails, letters, instant messages and any other type of written media, and I loved this. Candy Cane Lane | Blogmas Day 13

It's Blogmas day 13! This is one that I was really looking forward to. It was new and looked like it would be a really fun watch. I love Hallmark romance Christmas movies, but it's also nice to have these more family-oriented movies. In order to make his house perfect for Christmas, Chris Carver (Eddie Murphy) makes a deal that inadvertently brings the 12 days of Christmas to life. I was really disappointed with this. It definitely wasn't as fun or enjoyable as I wanted it to be. It starts off really slowly and doesn't make us care about the characters. And this was a theme that continued throughout - I never cared about the characters and couldn't really connect with them. I was bored almost instantly, and the film did nothing to recapture my attention. The story doesn't always make sense, but even if it did it wasn't that fun. This film was on my radar as soon as it came out in the cinema because I'm a huge fan of Adam Driver and will pretty much watch anything he's in. But I also love monster movies and creature features, so I always knew that I'd probably like the movie. I missed it when it came out but it has been released on the Sky Cinema Premiere channel, so I finally got to see it. An astronaut (Adam Driver) crash lands and soon discovers that he has landed on Earth 65 million years ago. Now he must protect his young companion (Ariana Greenblatt) and find a way to get them home before it's too late. I really really liked this film. I was actually surprised that the reviews were so negative because I had a really good time! The film took itself a lot more seriously than I thought it was going to, but that was a good thing because it made me take it seriously too. I liked the premise.
