My Favourite TV Shows!

I watch a lot of TV, I'll admit it. I love sitcoms and I spend a lot of my life invested in characters that have been made up purely for the enjoyment of the audience.

So I want to show you the TV shows that I watch, and see if any of you watch them too!

Impractical Jokers


I wrote about this show in my last Favourites post (here) and I am still loving it! It's about four high school friends who dare each other to do the most crazy, ridiculous things! For me, it's definitely the funniest show on TV right now because everything is real. The reactions of the public and the guys themselves are priceless! This is one to binge-watch!

Psych


I don't know whether or not this is classed as a sitcom, but it's hilarious! It's about a guy called Shawn Spencer who, with the help of his dad and best friend, has convinced a police department that he is a psychic. It is such a funny show because Shawn is a 5 year old stuck in an adults body playing at solving crimes. The only difference is that he actually solves them!

The Big Bang Theory


The new season of this has just started and I am loving it so far! It's about a group of self-confessed geeks who make friends with the hot girl next door. I mean, it's developed a lot further than this by now, but that's the basic premise. It's such a well thought out show with amazing scripts, and the longer you watch it, the more invested you are in their stories. A great watch!

Modern Family


As with 'The Big Bang Theory', a new series of 'Modern Family' has also just begun and I am also loving it! It's about three families (or one, because they're all interlinked) and the different things that they get up to, but it's so much funnier than I'm describing it! With this show, because I've been watching from series 1, it's really nice to watch the family grow up, specifically the younger kids. The Dunphy middle child Alex is around my age, and she went to college in the latest season, just like I've gone to university this year, and it really resonates with me, making me love the show even more.

The Vampire Diaries


I am obsessed with this show. I get stages of loving it, then not watching it, and I love it right now! I kind of want to get the series 1-6 box set and just binge-watch it all so that I can be 100% fully invested in it. It's about a girl called Elena who meets a boy called Stefan (and his brother Damon) before realising that they're vampires. I don't really watch supernatural TV shows or movies, but this is definitely one that I will continue to watch!

Marvel's Agent Carter


I have just finished the last episode of the first season and I'm having major withdrawal symptoms because the season finale was so amazing and epic that I can't even handle it! I am a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Agent Carter takes place after the first Captain America film, when the war has ended and everyone's trying to get back to normal. Peggy Carter is an amazing secret agent and is pounced upon by Howard Stark to help save his inventions, forgetting about the fact that he's a wanted man. An amazing addition to the MCU and an amazing series within itself!

    I have to admit the only one of these shows that I watch is the Big Bang Theory (which I am loving the new series of) - will definitely have to check out some of the other programmes you've suggested :) xx

    I've been meaning to start watching Big Bang Theory because I keep hearing references to it from my friends. My current favorite tv show is How to Get Away With Murder. It's so good!

    I love The Big Bang Theory and Psych!
    Aside from the Big Bang Theory, my favourites are The Simpsons (never too old!) and Bad Education

Young Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) tries to follow his dreams to become a respected chocolatier, despite opposition at every turn . This film was never particularly high on my 'to-watch' list, but it was always on my radar, so I'm glad I've finally seen it. I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would, but I still definitely had problems with it! For a start, while I love the fact that it was a musical, I didn't actually like any of the actual songs. None of them really stood out (except the one that's already known) and having only seen the film yesterday, I can't remember any of them. Scarface (1983) | 100 Movies Bucket List

Next up for the Bucket List was another first-time watch! I'd seen the original 1932 film years ago and really liked it, but I never got around to watching this (undoubtedly more popular) version, so I'm glad it was on the list. I really really liked this movie. I'm not sure if I like it more than, or the same as the original, but I definitely had a great time with it. One thing about finally seeing all these classic movies is seeing how much impact they've had on pop culture, and this film is definitely no exception. It's so quotable, there are so many iconic images, and it's one that everyone should watch if they haven't seen it before. The most talked-about aspect of this film is probably the violence, and that's so interesting to see. Not only the way it's spoken about, but also the difference between violence in older films like this and newer releases. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it. American Psycho | 100 Movies Bucket List

This one was a re-watch. I'd seen this film once before watching it for the Bucket List. My memories of it weren't wholly positive - I didn't love the first watch, and while I didn't hate it, it wasn't a film that I was itching to watch again. Though saying that, I knew that I probably would watch it again eventually, because I knew how much of a classic it was. Like a lot of films I've watched for the Bucket List, I liked it more this time around than I did the first time, though I still didn't love it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I did really enjoy it. The writing was great and Christian Bale was amazing in the role, as were the supporting actors. For me, though, the most iconic thing about this movie is its soundtrack. The songs used are amazing and fit the movie so well. The Matrix | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Next up for the Bucket List was a first-time watch. This is one that I had obviously heard of but knew next to nothing about. I found that it took a long time for me to connect with the story, and even then, while the film was interesting to watch, I never felt particularly invested in it. There were a lot of recognisable, iconic moments that I appreciated, and I get how much of an impact it had on sci-fi (and probably movies in general), but I don't know if it was for me. I somewhat enjoyed it, I understood everything that happened, but never felt connected, and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. It could just be that I need to re-watch it, and I probably will, but for a first watch, I didn't take to it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I'm glad I finally watched it!
