Hey Guys x I didn't really know much about this movie, and ended up seeing it on a whim. I knew that it was a big deal, that it was Quentin Tarantino's ninth film, and that it starred some of the biggest names in Hollywood, but I didn't know much about the actual story. Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his long-time stunt double and best friend Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) live their lives dealing with the fact that the film industry, and Hollywood itself, is changing before their very eyes. There's so much more encompassed in the movie than the small description I gave, but that's the simplest way to describe it, and a lot of the film is about this singular idea. Now, I've seen both good and bad reviews of this movie, and because I can completely see both points of view about it, I have to say that while I liked it, I didn't love it. Hey Guys x I knew practically nothing about this movie before I went to see it last night, but I'm a sucker for a good horror movie, and anything that has 'scary' in the title can't be that bad, surely? Especially anything with Guillermo Del Toro's name attached! Stella (Zoe Margaret Colletti) and her friends break into an old haunted house with a terrifying history on Halloween. Once inside, they find a book of scary stories belonging to one of the home's former residents. However, these scary stories seem to have a habit of coming true. Hey Guys x I was completely uninterested in seeing this film when I first heard about it. I'm not particularly opposed to all the remakes that are coming out right now, but the original version of this film, 'What Women Want' was one of the staple films of my childhood. Maybe it shouldn't have been, but I remember watching it repeatedly when I was young and it was definitely one of my favourite movies, so I kind of felt a loyalty to that version, and as such wasn't that interested in this one. Hey Guys x I never really review old/er movies, and I have no idea why. I guess it's the thought process that, if a film isn't new, everyone will have already seen it. But judging by how many older movies I've been watching, and how many people I know who have yet to see them, I can't see how it would be a bad idea to bring some older movies back into current circulation - starting with this one, which came out in 1999. Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie) is a police officer who is the person to find the first body in a series of seemingly unsolvable murders. The person needed to solve the case is quadriplegic forensic criminology expert  Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington). Together, Rhyme and Amelia try to get to the bottom of the crimes before more people become victims of this sadistic killer. Hey Guys x I remember seeing the trailer for this film a few times and thinking 'I really want to see that' every time I saw it, so of course when it finally came out, I had to see it! Scott (Michael Ealy) and Annie (Meagan Good) buy a house from widower Charlie (Dennis Quaid). However, soon it becomes clear that Charlie isn't willing to let the house go - but can the couple figure out the truth about Charlie's infatuation with their home before it's too late? I enjoyed this movie. It's not the best thriller I've ever seen, but it was fun and entertaining. For a start, there was really good chemistry between Michael Ealy and Meagan Good. From the start, you believe in them as a couple, which is great because the foundation of their relationship is important throughout the movie. Hey Guys x This is a book that you might have heard of, because it's quite popular. However, I hadn't heard anything about it until I actually bought it. And the sole reason that I bought it was because it sounded so good. 5 kids from 5 different walks of life end up in detention together. However, when one of those kids dies, the other four are the prime suspects. Are they in it together? Did they plan to kill him because of his gossip site? Are any of them actually guilty? While reading this book, I thought I knew exactly how my review was going to go. Because I started off completely LOVING this book. For a start, all of the main four characters are amazing. Addy, Cooper, Bronwyn and Nate are so different, but the slight connections between them made the book so interesting because, not only do you get to see them through each other's eyes, but then you get to go into their own heads to find out exactly who they are and what they're going through. Also, if you haven't read this book (and also managed to miss the title), this review will be full of SPOILERS , so avoid this post if you don't want to know what happens. Now that that's out of the way, let's get on with the review. I won't really be talking about the things that I liked in this review, it's purely for me to vent/rant about the things that I didn't like, which I couldn't do without spoiling the main plot points. Now, in a book called One Of Us Is Lying about a murder taking place, you'd expect one of the people to be lying about the murder. So the fact that none of the four did it, or are even involved other than passively, was so freaking disappointing to me! How can you set up a whole murder mystery, draw us in with the four suspects, and then make the big twist that the boy who was killed actually committed...
