Book Review #39: Life With a Sprinkle Of Glitter by Louise Pentland

Image
Hey Guys x I can't believe this is my 40th book review! That's crazy! Anyway, if you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know how much I love and am inspired by Louise Pentland, aka Sprinkle Of Glitter. So you'd have thought I would have bought this book as soon as it came out. However, as much as I'm on #TeamInternet, to buy all of their products you have to spend a lot of money! And I can't afford to spend bucket loads on them just because their YouTubers. But Louise's was always at the top of my list, until I read amazon reviews that said that you shouldn't buy it if you've over 14. So I didn't. Then I thought: I love Louise, her videos cater to an older audience, why wouldn't her book? So I took a chance and bought it - and I'm so happy I did! Anyway, the book is about Louise and her life, but more than that, it has a lot of advice and helpful suggestions. The four main sections are 'Glitz', 'Cr...

My 300th Post!

Image
Hey Guys x It feels like I've been celebrating a lot of blogging milestones recently, and here's another to add to the list! This is my 300th Post! I always say this, but I find that really hard to believe. I have written 300 posts. That's crazy! Just thinking about coming up with 300 ideas to write a post about right now seems really daunting - and I've already done this! It's so weird! When I started writing this blog, I never expected to write 300 posts. I've said this so many times before, but I expected to pick up blogging as a new hobby, get bored, and pick up something else, leaving my blog in the metaphorical wasteland of spaces on the internet that are taken but no longer occupied. But obviously this wasn't the case. Every time something happens to me, or I become passionate about something, I write it down in my phone as a possible blog topic, and looking through my old posts, I can see the passion in my writing, which is something t...

Faking Confidence!

Image
Hey Guys x First of all, I've changed my blog design, which you've probably noticed! Let me know what you think about it! I'm really happy with it, and if you want me to write a post either about how I did it or why I chose certain things, leave me a comment and I'll write that! I also want to thank Peace Firestone so much for her help. She spent a lot of time with me this morning helping me and making sure that my blog looked perfect and everything was readable. Her advice was amazing and I'm really really grateful for it, so thank you so much Peace! Now I want to talk about confidence, and this ties in with my blog design. When I was changing everything, I had to have confidence that I knew what I was doing. I made a lot of mistakes, which some of you might know if you were on my blog at midnight this morning to see the weird in-between stages where the mistakes were visible for the world to see! And I wasn't confident, in fact, I was freaking o...

The End Of Summer

Image
Hey Guys x *Throughout this post, I use the term 'year' a lot. What I mean is the academic year, which begins in September and finishes in June/July in the UK, not an actual new year* I know I don't have to tell you, summer is basically officially over. And I feel weird. I don't know how to feel. This summer has meant a lot of things for me. Most importantly, it's meant the transition from college to university. Or, more generally, the transition from teenager to supposed-to-be-an adult. And it's weird. I feel... different. In a way, I feel like everything's changed. And it's true, my friends and I are moving on. Never again will we walk through out school gates and greet each other or walk home from school together. Now it's up to us to make sure that we keep in contact with each other... school no longer plays a part in pushing us together beyond our control. And I'm ok with that, because this is the time when we know whic...

My 10 Favourite Films!

Image
Hey Guys Jack Howard made a video talking about his favourite films, and that immediately prompted me to make a list of my favourite films (or the top 10 anyway!) and I thought I'd share them with you. Jack's Video: I know that, as soon as I press publish, there will be a mass of movies that I haven't included that I love just as much, or maybe even more than the ones that I've included, as films 5-10 always change for me! In fact, I'll probably write a post called 'Films I Forgot' in a few weeks time! 10. Disney I know this technically isn't one film, but I couldn't pick just one Disney film to be in my top 10, and if I did more than one, this post would end up being my top 10 Disney movies, which is a post for another time! But you probably already know my love for Disney, so I won't express it again! 9. The Conjuring   This is a big contrast from Disney!! The Conjuring is without a doubt my favourite horror film, and it...

August Favourites! | 2015

Image
Hey Guys x Once again, it's time for me to show you the things that I've been loving this month! As usual, let me know what you've been loving this month in the comments and I hope that some of my favourites for this month become your favourites for next month! Favourite Film: 21 Jump Street I am the last person to watch this film! I don't know why I didn't watch it sooner! Anyway, I watched this film for the first time this month and was really surprised by how funny it was! I'm a big Channing Tatum fan anyway, but this film also made me love Jonah Hill, and whoever's idea it was to pair them together... it completely worked! Favourite TV Show: Agent Carter This is MARVEL's latest TV series and focuses on the life of Peggy Carter (first seen in 'Captain America: The First Avenger') in the 1940s, balancing being a secret agent and a single woman in the '40s. It is an amazing show! Even if you have no knowledge of Peggy Carter (o...

Learning To Dance In The Rain

Image
Hey Guys x A thought has been in my mind for the last few weeks, so I decided to write a post about it. It comes from the phrase below: Throughout my life, I haven't been the person that dances in the rain, or the person that waits for the storm to pass. I'm the person that sees the storm, gets out an umbrella, and then puts it down and decides to stay at home long after the storm has already passed. In other words, I'm a pessimist who doesn't really make things happen. I've been thinking about this a lot. I want to learn to dance in the rain. I want to be the person who makes things happen for myself - I just don't know how yet. It's weird, going through daily life, this isn't one of the thoughts that generally come to mind. Rather than thinking about making things happen, we wish and pray for things to happen around us. For example 'Please don't make me miss the train' rather than 'let me wake up 10 minutes earlier to m...
