Blogmas Day 18: Christmas Q&A!

A few weeks ago, I asked you guys to send me some questions so that I could do a Q&A post.
 
Thank you to everyone who sent me questions, either by email or on Beau Bloggers, I really appreciate it!
 
What is your favourite holiday drink?
I don't have a specific holiday drink, but when the weather gets colder, I love to break out the hot chocolate! However, this was when I could drink milk. Now what I can't, I have no idea what my favourite holiday drink is, but hopefully I'll find one this holiday season!
 
What is the best Christmas present you ever got?
This is a really hard question! I really appreciate every single one of my presents! I think the Christmas present that I use the most (or birthday present, I can't remember now!) is the laptop that I am currently using to write this post! I use it daily without fail and I don't know what I would do without it. I'm aware that this sounds incredibly materialistic, but in today's society, if you don't have technology, you can't really do a lot. And my laptop allows me to do everything, from watching videos to writing this post right now!
 
Do you prefer having snowball fights or making snowmen?
I think snowball fights, because they're easier to make and take a lot less time. However, getting hit in the face with an ice cold ball of frozen water really isn't the best experience! And, to reference 'Frozen', who doesn't want to build a snowman?
 
What do you do during your Christmas holidays?
Usually, I spend the two week holiday watching Christmas Movies, eating Christmas food and desperately hoping that I never have to go back to school again, which never happens! This holiday, I will also be revising, as I have mock exams in college as soon as we go back to school. As in, the same day for the first week, so I need to make sure that I know what I'm talking about!
 
What's your favourite Christmas food?
I really love Christmas food in general, but I think my favourite food is either macaroni cheese or stuffing. I know I don't have milk, but I will definitely be having some macaroni cheese. I am ok with milk in small doses, but a cup of hot chocolate or a milkshake is unfortunately out of the question!
 
Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
To be honest, my mum usually works on Christmas Eve, so I don't really do anything specific. Although my sister and I do feel out presents to see if we can guess what they are! We're usually never right though!

When ex-UFC fighter Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal) takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse, he soon finds that his past is quickly catching up to him. I've never seen the original Road House, and when I put this one on I wasn't really planning to review it, but I found myself really getting into it. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Both the characters and the story were a lot more engaging and compelling than I thought they would be. The story sucked me in right from the beginning and I was interested the whole way through. The cast is great, but Jake Gyllenhaal completely carries the film and plays the character of Dalton really well. Again, I can't compare his performance to the original, but I really like the character. The fight scenes, which are pretty much what the film is about, are done really well. They're entertaining, but they also do a good job of moving the story forward. I think the reason I liked the film so much was because I didn't take it

The Matrix | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Next up for the Bucket List was a first-time watch. This is one that I had obviously heard of but knew next to nothing about. I found that it took a long time for me to connect with the story, and even then, while the film was interesting to watch, I never felt particularly invested in it. There were a lot of recognisable, iconic moments that I appreciated, and I get how much of an impact it had on sci-fi (and probably movies in general), but I don't know if it was for me. I somewhat enjoyed it, I understood everything that happened, but never felt connected, and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. It could just be that I need to re-watch it, and I probably will, but for a first watch, I didn't take to it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I'm glad I finally watched it!

Scarface (1983) | 100 Movies Bucket List

Next up for the Bucket List was another first-time watch! I'd seen the original 1932 film years ago and really liked it, but I never got around to watching this (undoubtedly more popular) version, so I'm glad it was on the list. I really really liked this movie. I'm not sure if I like it more than, or the same as the original, but I definitely had a great time with it. One thing about finally seeing all these classic movies is seeing how much impact they've had on pop culture, and this film is definitely no exception. It's so quotable, there are so many iconic images, and it's one that everyone should watch if they haven't seen it before. The most talked-about aspect of this film is probably the violence, and that's so interesting to see. Not only the way it's spoken about, but also the difference between violence in older films like this and newer releases. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it.
