The Nun | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x So, another Blumhouse movie for me to review! They've been putting out movies so consistently lately that it's so much fun to be a fan of them! Whether I love every single movie or not, they're absolutely my favourite production company, and if we remove the Marvel and DC extended universes, then the 'Conjuring' franchise is definitely my favourite cinematic universe! At an Abbey in Romania one night, a young nun takes her own life. Sent to investigate, a priest and an almost-nun travel to the Abbey to discover the truth behind this mysterious case. However, what they thought would be straightforward ends up being anything but. Is this case open and shut, or is there a lot more to this story than meets the eye? I'm trying not to give anything away for anyone that may not have seen any of the Conjuring movies, so that description is probably more than a bit vague! But for me, I went into the film really well-versed in this world. The Conjurin

Book Review #56: Love, Simon by Becky Albertalli

Hey Guys x I picked this book up on a whim. I had never really planned on buying it even though I loved the film, just because I didn't know if I'd actually read it. But while shopping one day, I saw it in Foyles, and decided to just pick it up. It's about a boy called Simon Spier who is a totally normal guy with a totally normal life. Except he's keeping a huge part of himself a secret from everyone he knows - he's gay. And the only person he can confide in is Blue, who he only knows through email. At first, anonymity works for them. But as Simon falls deeper and deeper for Blue, he decides that this is a part of his life that he doesn't want hidden. While trying to find the true Blue, can Simon keep his sexuality a secret from the people closest to him? Even when he's being blackmailed...? Now, I reviewed the film version of this book, which you can read HERE , and I said that I absolutely loved it. With the book, I honestly didn't expect it to

Hey Guys x I really haven't posted that much during August, but I can never not do a 'favourites' post, so here it is! Tell me what your favourite things have been this month! Favourite Movie (1): To All The Boys I've Loved Before I reviewed this here , so feel free to check it out. But just to clarify, I completely loved it and can't wait to watch it again! Favourite Movie (2): Me and Earl and the Dying Girl I saw this for the first time this month, and I have no idea why it took me so long. All the way through the film, I was watching and enjoying, but it wasn't really affecting me. Then it got to a scene near the end of the film that I won't spoil. And I just lost it. It felt like until that moment, I hadn't really thought about the film in a deep way, and when I did, I realised how much of an impact it did have on me. So yeah, I loved it, and you should definitely watch it if you haven't. Favourite TV Show: Brooklyn 99 This is th
