April Favourites! | 2016

Image
Hey Guys x Time again for another Favourites post! It feels weird - because of guest week, I've only personally written like, 5 posts, since the last favourties! April has been a busy month, so I must warn you that this is probably the longest 'Favourites' post that I've ever written! Sit back, relax and enjoy! Favourite Movie 1: Miss You Already I don't know when this film came out, but I only watched it this month and I completely fell in love with it! It's about two lifelong best friends, Milly and Jess. Their lives are heading in different directions but they always make time for each other. However, things get complicated with Milly discovers that she has cancer and Jess finds out that she's pregnant. The friend's lives are pulled apart and they're forced to work out why they're friends in the first place. This film is so touching and I really really enjoyed it. It doesn't take on the roll of a 'cancer film' for me,

My 2nd Blogiversary!

Image
Hey Guys x This has completely crept up on me - but today is my blog's second anniversary (or blogiversary) and I am just so happy! I have been blogging for two years! When I started, I never thought that I would make it this far or be blogging for this long! I mean, I always say this, but I definitely thought that I would have gotten bored and found another 50 hobbies to keep my mind occupied day in and day out. But no, blogging has been my constant thing - the thing that can still get me really excited, and the thing that I'm constantly writing down notes and ideas for, and I'm so grateful that I found it when I did! Something I've been really excited to do is to compare this blogiversary to the last one. When I had been blogging for a year, I had just shy of 18,000 pageviews - which was amazing! I now have close to 55,000 views - and I can't even fathom it! You guys have clicked on my blog and read one of my posts close to 55 THOUSAND times! That'

Guest Week | Ending and Thank You's!

Image
Hey Guys x For the first time in 14 days, it's Lou here! Guest Week (technically 'Guest Fortnight') has now officially finished and I could not be happier with how it turned out! Honestly, it was completely amazing! People had such unique ideas for their posts and it was so interesting to see all of the different ways that people blog and the different things that they feel passionate about. And if you completely missed Guest Week - let me fill you in! I handed my blog over for 14 days to 14 incredible bloggers and writers, and allowed them to write a post about anything - from something they felt passionate about to something that interested them. And I just want to thank all of the incredible bloggers that took time out to take part in this project, because obviously, I couldn't have done this without them! Because of how well it went, I'm honestly considering making this an annual thing - which is really exciting because it's allowed me to co

My 365 Miles in 365 Days Challenge - Anastazja's Adventures | Guest Week

Image
Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to the lovely Bria for choosing me as one of the guest bloggers of the week! I really appreciate this opportunity. Secondly, I should probably introduce myself, as it would be a bit awkward if I didn't. My name is Anastazja, I'm a 21 year old travel and lifestyle blogger at Anastazja's Adventures . I started up my blog at the beginning of January 2016, so I am still a complete newbie when it comes to blogging. So you might be thinking that this blog will be all about adventures, travel tips etc. Well... I could talk to you about all of that, but instead, I want to take this opportunity of being a Guest Blogger to post a "one off" special blog about a big challenge that I have taken on for 2016... The "365 Miles in 365 Days" challenge. What is this “ 365 Miles in 365 Days 2016 " challenge? You might be thinking, what the hell is she on about!? Am I right?... Well... back in December 2015

Body Confidence - Abi Kelly | Guest Week

Firstly I would like to say hey, to all of you on this beautiful blog, I’m Abi. I am so happy to be writing here and have thoroughly enjoyed reading the other guest post's so go check them out! I will give thanks to Lou for letting me be part of this. If you have never read my blog before (acuppaandahalf.blogspot.co.uk) I do chatty posts mostly. Partly because they are slightly easier to come up with and partly because it is what I feel comfortable with. When faced with the problem of what to write for this blog, I was extremely stuck. Do I go deep? Or do I try not to scare you off? In the end I decided to do a post, that was in part, inspired by one of the friendly emails (a project thing I do). I wrote about being kind to yourself, and some truths, and it got me thinking. Since a fairly young age, I have always been conscious of my weight, I am not severely overweight, but I am not really slim either, I guess most would call me normal, no flat stomach, no thigh gap definitely

Relatable Resting Bitch Face Problems! - Okay Christina | Guest Week

Image
Hey lovelies! It's Christina from the blog  Okay Christina  guest posting for Bria today! When Bria asked me to write a guest post on a topic I felt strongly about, at first I thought about writing about either a post on fashion or beauty. But after a while of thinking I thought to myself, 'no, I want to write a post that I   100%  feel passionate for'... So here is my post on only things people with a resting bitch face will understand! Now I've had a resting bitch face for practically as long as I can remember, but it never really came to my attention until it came to secondary school... Now for those who don't know what a resting bitch face is (otherwise abbreviated as RBF), according to the Urban Dictionary it is when you constantly have a mean,  expressionless look on your face when you don't actually mean to. You see I was I guess naturally born with a RBF, ever since I was born I've had this issue with my teeth and my jaw structure cal

Learning To Love Your Flaws - Girl Abroad | Guest Week

Image
I  hate the way my skin is bumpy all over my arms, uneven with red lumps and bumps. I hate the way my ribs stick out at an angle, it's unattractive and ugly. I hate the way my knees are knobbly. I hate the way my feet are way to big for my body, I feel like a clown walking around. I hate my flaws. But, if I think about it, I love my so-called "flaws". They're what makes me different, and I adore that. Even though my skin is bumpy, it doesn't affect my life overall. I'm so grateful I don't have anything seriously wrong with my skin. A few bumps won't hurt me. Even though my ribs stick out sometimes, I don't look unhealthy, and I'm not unhealthy. I'm at a healthy weight. I love the way my knees are knobbly. They're just cool! I love my way-too-big-for-my-body feet. They help me balance - pretty awesome, eh?  So if you're looking at yourself, scrutinising yourself in the mirror, what are your "flaws"? Accept that

6 Reasons Why He's a Waste of Time - Victoria Goodlow | Guest Week

Image
We all know that time is of the essence! That’s why it is so important for us to use it on things that we value most. However, as women, we tend to not place these same convictions on the men we talk to. Why is that? It’s because he’s good looking, has a nice body, makes you laugh, and great in bed! We’re not getting any younger and a nice smile and good sex can only get you so far! How will you know he’s not the one? Check out some of the red flags that you should know when it comes to avoiding Mr. Waste your time! You don’t have a title. I don’t know about you, but I need to know where we stand. If a guy tells you, “we’re just having fun,” RUN! He doesn’t know what he wants. Any man that can’t give you a clear answer on the future of your relationship needs to be left alone. It’s all about sex! Are you noticing that the only time you talk to him is during “booty call” hours? Sex is great! However, that’s the glue that is holding you both together. Without it…what do you

My Passion For Reading - Elise | Guest Week

Image
I am really happy about this amazing opportunity that Lou has given me by allowing me to take over her blog (thank you!), so if there are any of you who are unsure of who I am, my name is Elise and I run the blog   I Can't Think Help . Let's get on with the post though, shall we?  I don't understand people who don't like reading I don't understand how you cannot like falling into another world, a world which could include anything from demons to the most skilled detectives ever. Reading, to me, is the best thing I could think of doing. I read every day and honestly I couldn't do it enough. When I read, I leave this world and enter another one. I prefer to read fantasy and sci-fi books, so I honestly do enter a completely different world. A world full or dragons and mermaids and fairies and wizards- you name it it's there. I once saw an amazing quote, and to this day I live by it. I am not sure who it was who said it, but it was something al

My Favourite Disney Films - My Sister! | Guest Week

Image
Hey everyone I’m Harley and I’m Lou’s little sister. I don’t actually have a blog but Lou asked me whether I wanted to do a post for guest week and I thought I’d give it a go. So here it is! 7. Tangled I absolutely loved tangled from the very first time I watched it. In my eyes I think what made tangled such a great film was the fact that it put a modern spin on a classic fairytale. Personally, I think that this makes it stand out from a lot of other Disney films, well that and its great soundtrack!!! 6. The hunchback of Notre dame My sister and I both love this film so much for so many different reasons. Its concept, teachings, soundtrack and more.  We also really love the film because of the main moral of the story: treat everyone well.  We think that if everyone actually took the message of the film away with them then there would be a lot less anger and hatred in the world. 5. Aladdin Aladdin is an absolute classic in my eyes. I first watched it whe

Travelling & Trying New Things - Em's World | Guest Week

Image
Hi, I'm Em from the blog Em's World | Talking Through The Screen . Today I will be doing a guest post on this blog, I hope you enjoy........... I've always found travelling fun, I find it really interesting and a tiny bit scary at the same time. I think it's great to explore new places and try new things, I especially enjoy the little things. For example today I tried a Cinnabon for the first time and (this is quite a big thing) a few days ago I came here to America, going out of Europe for the first time. I appreciate that not everyone enjoys going abroad but I find it amazing, I also appreciate that not everybody has the opportunity to go abroad but you can travel and try new things without spending loads of money as well, whether it's camping in you back garden or staying in a hotel on the other side of the world you can still explore and see different ways of living and cultures.  When I say trying new things, it can mean anything, like today I wal
