Letter To Winter | Blogmas Day 5

Happy Blogmas Day 5! Dear Winter, This is the 5th year in a row, and it falls on Blogmas Day 5. That must mean something, maybe this is the 'Letter To Winter' that's supposed to be the most special, or magical? Either way, this one feels completely different to last year. I'm not freezing cold, I'm not shivering, my teeth aren't chattering, I'm not relying on the warmth of my laptop to stop me from getting too cold. And yet, it still feels Christmassy. That could be because I've been watching as many Christmas movies as possible, or maybe because I've written a whole load of Blogmas posts today, but there is definitely something magical in the air. A slight chill that reminds people exactly where and when we are. 20 days away from Christmas. A little bit more than that and we're gonna be in 2019, and that's so freaky. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this year has gone by ridiculously fast. I can't bel...

Letter To Winter | Blogmas Day 7

Hey Guys x So, I've done a letter to Winter every single Blogmas that I've taken part in - one rhyming and one not but both poems. This year, I've actually taken a poetry class, so the poem should be progressively better - I don't know if that will be the case though! It's not going to rhyme, because forcing a rhyme is harder than no rhyme at all. Letter to Winter Dear Winter, The third time I'm writing this letter to you and I have nothing new to say. Winter is my favourite season. My favourite time, favourite month, favourite day. The 12th day in particular, my favourite of them all, my day to chill, to read, to write, to do whatever I want. A day of presents, of fun and friends, This year, the 20th one. But that's not the only reason I love Winter, Christmas for a start - the festive time. Blogmas, Vlogmas, Snapmas, A time for creators to create, for makers to make. Winter's the time when everyone...

Blogmas Day 6: Letter To Winter | 2015

I did one of these last year and I loved writing it, so I thought that I'd do another one, one year on. Let me know what you think! Dear Winter, It's been a year since we last spoke And I've literally gone from the top of the world to flat out broke. It's come quicker this time, and it's not as cold Even the British weather doesn't have to be told Ok, so from last year to now, not a lot has changed. Except I've started Uni, so many well-wishes have been exchanged. I'm still blogging, I never stopped... Except that one week in October, but that memory has been firmly blocked! I'm still wishing for an extremely white winter Or as white as can be, given that winter is disappearing quicker and quicker. The first drop of rain though, has come and gone Yet somehow, the excitement for Christmas still seems put-on Ok, so I don't really know where I'm going with this But my 'Letter To Winter' is something that I never wa...

Blogmas Day 5: Letter To Winter

Image
This is based of Carrie Hope Fletcher's 'Letters To Autumn', which I loved watching.   So yes, this is a letter addressed to Winter. I know that Winter isn't a tangible object but let's just roll with it.   A lot of people hate Winter And it's understandable. It's cold, wet, raining Who wants to be trekking through rain when they could be on a sunny beach?   But to be honest Winter, the Sun and I have never got on I was born in the Winter, and have loved it ever since I don't know why, but there's something about it Something magical, mystical   When you read magical fairy tales, they never happen in the middle of a heatwave do they? A snow storm is more fun, more magical   Not that I see much snow. Britain is known for it's ridiculously cold weather, But I can't remember the last time we had a white Winter.   Of course, I don't feel a leap in my heart when the temperature drops I ...
