July Favourites | 2017

Hey Guys x It's time for another favourites post. Each month I apologise for my lack of posts, and I'm gonna do that again right now. I have plans for posts that I sometimes can't be bothered to write, and then I feel so guilty when I see that the blog hasn't been updated in a while. I'm not gonna promise to upload more often, because I don't know if I will. But I will promise to write more, because I really miss it when I don't. Anyway, let's get on with my favourites! Favourite Movie: Spider-Man: Homecoming I will write an in-depth non-spoiler review of this, but as of right now I'll just say that I really really enjoyed this movie. So many people have described it as 'fun', but I thought that there were times when it got really deep and heartfelt and... emotional. But yeah, there is a lot of fun, and it's also quite funny which is great! I'm not sure about comparing it to the other Spider-Man movies, but as a stand-alone

My 3rd Blogiversary!

Image
Hey Guys x I have to start this post with a massive apology, from and to myself. My third blogiversary was in April, and I completely missed it. It's weird and sad to think that it didn't even cross my mind for a split second that month, it completely escaped me. I have no idea why. I didn't post a lot in April anyway, I think maybe about 5 times. In fact, this whole year hasn't been great in terms of blogging. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things now, but I can't say it's easy. Sometimes blogging feels pointless, and other times it feels like the best thing in the world. I'm trying to find that healthy balance. However, no matter how many times I've posted this year, it's still my third year of blogging, and that should definitely be celebrated! I've managed to keep blogging for three years, which is amazing, if I do say so myself. It's without a doubt my longest-running hobby and I still love it, despite fall

The Social Network | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x Ever since I first started watching Jack Howard, he's always talked about this film. So when I decided to watch a bunch of movies this summer, this was close to the top of my list. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake (amongst others) and is about how 'Facebook' came to be. However, although Facebook is the umbrella that the film is based on, what it's actually about is a lawsuit that it taking place between it's creator Mark Zuckerberg, his best friend, and twins who claim that Zuckerberg stole the idea from them. The one word that I'd use to describe this film is interesting. Really interesting, so intriguing. Just the basic premise of becoming famous due to creating something so amazing from scratch is such an interesting thing to think about. And then you have to think about the kind of person who would do that, and the way that it would effect them. Something that struck me whilst watching this fi

Book Review #50: My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella

Image
Hey Guys x Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors in the world so of course I read her new book. The book is about Katie. She has an amazing life. She lives in London (her dream) has a great job with an inspiring boss, and does amazing things every day that make for amazing insta pics. Or so her social media profiles would have you believe. Actually, Katie's life isn't what it seems. Her London apartment is actually a tiny mess, her job is repetitive, her boss is infuriating and her insta pics belong to the life of some other Londoner. But she's sticking it out. After all, living in London is her dream. However, when Katie's infuriating boss Demeter gives her the sack, she can't help but feel incredibly angry. How is it fair for Demeter with the perfect life to single-handedly destroy hers?! So when they cross paths again, Katie has one thing on her mind - revenge. But is Demeter's life as perfect as it seems? That was a long-winded expla

47 Meters Down | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x I saw this film last night and wanted to review it as soon as possible while it's still in my head. Also, unless you got to see it early, you probably won't have seen this yet, it's barely out. So anyway, let me get on with the review. This film is about two sisters, Lisa (played by Mandy Moore, 'This is Us') and Kate (played by Claire Holt, 'The Originals). On holiday in Mexico, they're determined to show Lisa's ex boyfriend that she's anything but boring. Hence an exciting-but-dangerous scuba diving-style mission, where they're put in a cage and dropped 5 meters under water to see the aquatic life, including sharks, up close. However, an unforeseen circumstance sees their cage dropped 47 meters into the ocean. Not only do the girls have to worry about sharks, but can they make it back to the shore before they run out of oxygen? I really really really liked this film. Really really. I am a huge fan of both Mandy Moore

Gifted | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x Today's post comes in the form of another review. This one is 'Gifted' staring, amongst others, Chris Evans aka Captain America, which was definitely a reason for me to watch this. But nevertheless, I saw this film a few weeks ago and have been itching to review it ever since! So, this film is about a guy called Frank Adler who takes care of his niece Mary after her mother's (his sister's) death. However, after years of being home schooled, Frank sends Mary to public school for the first time, where he learns that she is an extremely gifted mathematician, as her mother was. Then Frank's estranged mother comes back on the scene bearing some unwanted news - she wants to take Mary off of Frank's hands and have her reach her full potential, dedicating her life to working on the math problem that her mother never got the time to complete. However, Frank believes that Mary's mother would have wanted her to have a full life, as a chi
