My 10 Favourite Films!

Image
Hey Guys Jack Howard made a video talking about his favourite films, and that immediately prompted me to make a list of my favourite films (or the top 10 anyway!) and I thought I'd share them with you. Jack's Video: I know that, as soon as I press publish, there will be a mass of movies that I haven't included that I love just as much, or maybe even more than the ones that I've included, as films 5-10 always change for me! In fact, I'll probably write a post called 'Films I Forgot' in a few weeks time! 10. Disney I know this technically isn't one film, but I couldn't pick just one Disney film to be in my top 10, and if I did more than one, this post would end up being my top 10 Disney movies, which is a post for another time! But you probably already know my love for Disney, so I won't express it again! 9. The Conjuring   This is a big contrast from Disney!! The Conjuring is without a doubt my favourite horror film, and it&

August Favourites! | 2015

Hey Guys x Once again, it's time for me to show you the things that I've been loving this month! As usual, let me know what you've been loving this month in the comments and I hope that some of my favourites for this month become your favourites for next month! Favourite Film: 21 Jump Street I am the last person to watch this film! I don't know why I didn't watch it sooner! Anyway, I watched this film for the first time this month and was really surprised by how funny it was! I'm a big Channing Tatum fan anyway, but this film also made me love Jonah Hill, and whoever's idea it was to pair them together... it completely worked! Favourite TV Show: Agent Carter This is MARVEL's latest TV series and focuses on the life of Peggy Carter (first seen in 'Captain America: The First Avenger') in the 1940s, balancing being a secret agent and a single woman in the '40s. It is an amazing show! Even if you have no knowledge of Peggy Carter (o

Learning To Dance In The Rain

Image
Hey Guys x A thought has been in my mind for the last few weeks, so I decided to write a post about it. It comes from the phrase below: Throughout my life, I haven't been the person that dances in the rain, or the person that waits for the storm to pass. I'm the person that sees the storm, gets out an umbrella, and then puts it down and decides to stay at home long after the storm has already passed. In other words, I'm a pessimist who doesn't really make things happen. I've been thinking about this a lot. I want to learn to dance in the rain. I want to be the person who makes things happen for myself - I just don't know how yet. It's weird, going through daily life, this isn't one of the thoughts that generally come to mind. Rather than thinking about making things happen, we wish and pray for things to happen around us. For example 'Please don't make me miss the train' rather than 'let me wake up 10 minutes earlier to m

Image
Hey Guys x First of all, sorry that I couldn't post yesterday, I was out all day and by the time I came home, it would have been too late to upload. I have now hit 30,000 views! 30,000. I actually can't believe it and it's hard for me to even picture that number, let alone relate it to my blog! I have reached a lot of blogging milestones this year and I just can't believe how far my blog has come in just a year and 4 months! And so much of that is down to you guys, the people who read my posts and comment your thoughts on them. If  you're reading right now, thank you, because obviously you've helped me reach this goal and I couldn't be more grateful. To be honest, I don't know if I'm even in the right frame of mind right now to be writing this post and I probably should have saved it for another day, but I wanted to write it as soon as possible, just to extend a massive thank you to you guys and to tell you how grateful I am that you

Holiday Haul!

Image
Hey Guys x Thanks for all your comments on my 'University Worries' post, they've been so helpful and I'm feeling much less worried about going! Last week, I went to Devon with my mum and sister and I had a really nice relaxing time, it was great! I bought some things over there that I want to show in a post, because I love them so much, so I thought I'd do a haul! Jelly Beans I bought them because I loved the jar so much! I've never had jelly beans from a glass jar and I was really impressed with it! Rock Devon is a seaside town. How can you go to the seaside without buying rock? White Chocolate Slab Around the corner from where we stayed there was a little shop that sold all different kinds of chocolate. I can't remember what it was called, but I knew straightaway that I was going to buy some chocolate from there! Fridge Magnet My family have this thing where, whenever we go somewhere new, we have to buy a

University Worries

Image
Hey Guys x So as most of you know, I got into university, which is really exciting! However, as with anything new, there are some things about the process of starting uni that make me really nervous and worried, so I thought that I could share some of my worries with you guys in this post (mostly so you could please tell me that they're all in my head!) Making Friends I don't really have a problem with making friends as such, I always tend to talk to people in  my classes and generally get on with them. However, because I'm staying at home, I kind of feel like I'm going to miss out on a few of the social aspects that come with sharing a home with someone. And, on a more irrational note, I always worry in new social situations whether or not people will like me. However, because my course is so closely linked with writing, I'll probably find people that like writing and books as much as me, which is a comforting thought. Freshers Week/Clubbing Generally

Book Review #38: Calm by Michael Acton Smith

Image
Hey Guys x This book was one of my first amazon purchases, and I wrote a post about it here . I've heard about this book on the internet and from various Youtubers, so when I saw it in my amazon recommendations, I thought I'd give it a try. This book is about exactly what it says in the cover: calm. There are various exercises helping the reader to have calm within their lives. It talks about the benefits of having some calm in your life, as well as mindfulness and meditation tips, as well as different activities that introduce calm into someone's life. I love this book! Honestly, I think it really illustrates how important it is to have a break from life once in a while, and why we should all have calm in our lives. Every page is really calming and has a different effect on the reader. It's also filled with lovely quotes that really put things into perspective. For me, it just makes me look at life in a different way. Like, there are s

SWIG Hip Flask Review!

Image
Hey Guys x I've never really owned a hip flask, especially as they're usually reserved for alcohol and I only turned 18 in December. However, when the SWIG Hip Flask company contacted me about reviewing one of their products, I thought it would be a really good opportunity. Then, after emailing them, when one of the employees told me that they prefer to drink hot chocolate in their flask than alcohol, I knew that this was a brand that I could really get behind! I got a 'SWIG 'Naked' Flask Gift Set' and couldn't be happier when it arrived! Before I even talk about using it, I just have to comment on how beautiful it is! Both my parents were with me when it arrived and they were both seriously impressed! I decided to get the gift set so that I could see what it would be like if I had sent this as a present to a friend or family member, and I have to say that, if I was sent this as a gift, I wo
