Results Day (aka 'The End Of The World')

Image
Hey Guys x Just a warning - this post is going to be a big ramble because my thoughts are moving around my head so quickly that I can't even keep track of them! Results day is in 10 days. 10 days. Less than two weeks. This summer, my philosophy has been: don't think about results day until you absolutely have to! And, to be honest, I could go for another 5 days not thinking about it, and I would have liked to! But my mind is not allowing me to ignore it. It's just looming at me: RESULTS. RESULTS ARE COMING. YOUR FATE IS DECIDED. THE UNIVERSITIES KNOW. ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN! And I can't stop thinking about all of the different outcomes. I could do well, I could do badly. And there's nothing I can do right now to change that outcome. As these are A2 results, I think it makes more sense to be more worried. After GCSE's and AS levels, of course you're scared, but you have the back-up of school or college. You have something that you can go back...

Exams Are Over!

Hey Guys x I can't believe I finally get to say this... I'VE FINISHED MY EXAMS! I'm writing this on Thursday, just after my last exam has finished! To be honest, my last exam did not go well, but I'm not even thinking about it because I've finally finished! I honestly worked my arse off and because of that, I'm going to enjoy my time off, no matter how I think I've done! For those who may want to know, I did/do English literature, sociology and religious studies, and I have to say, it's probably been one of the hardest years academically. Everyone talks about the jump between AS and A2 in the UK education system, but you never really know how big the jump is until you're actually revising! The content is crazy! Anyway, this isn't going to be a very long post because I'm just giving an update. When I left the exam hall, a great weight was lifted from me. I had no more revision to do. I can finally focus on reading and wri...

Making The Most Of School

Image
Of course most of us hate school. That's not only completely natural, but I think it's kind of expected.   When I say 'make the most of school' I don't mean to accept things like bullying, because that is a total separate issue that I have done a post about ( here ) a few months ago and I may be doing another one. But in this post, I'm going to talk about some things to get you through school.     This is something that Marcus Butler said in his latest vlog ( here ) and it is something that really struck a chord with me. At school, you have all your friends in one place. Personally, it is hard to have days out with the friends that don't go to my college, and it's going to be even harder when me and all of my friends go to university next year. Some of us are staying in London while others of us are going all over the UK! So it's going to be really nice to have this last year where we spend every day together.     Don't...

How To Prepare For Exam Results

Image
If you live in the UK, and are currently in school/college, then you may know that in the next 2 weeks GCSE, AS and A2 exam results are coming out! This is a really stressful time for everyone who is awaiting those results in particular. Having said this, most people have to do exams at some point in their lives, so I think my tips will be helpful to most people. I am receiving my AS results on Thursday, which means that I have already been through the pressure of receiving my GCSE results last year, so I think I have some useful tips for how to prepare for results day. I hope my 3 tips stop you from being too anxious and nervous about your upcoming exam results. Whatever Will Be Will Be   I like to use this saying all the time in everyday life, but specifically to exam results. Being anxious is normal, completely. But continually thinking and worrying about what your results will be is not going to change them. You secured your results back in May/June when you f...
