Let's Meet Again on Christmas Eve | Blogmas day 24

It's Christmas Eve!

And as it's Christmas Eve, what better film to end Blogmas with than a film that's literally about, and titled, Christmas Eve!

Two college sweethearts, Corrine (Kyla Pratt) and Rob (Brooks Darnell) part ways when career opportunities take them in different directions, promising to meet again the next Christmas Eve. Years later, they reconnect while planning a Christmas wedding.

This film is almost exactly the same as the film 'Merry Matrimony' that I reviewed on Blogmas day 11. They are both about couples who break up for one reason or another, and are brought together 7 years later to plan a Christmas wedding.

The only difference between this film and 'Merry Matrimony', is that this film was good. Because I didn't like the other one at all, but I really liked this one.

For a start, the couple have such natural chemistry, which makes them really fun to watch.

In fact, I loved all of the characters, even the minor ones that I didn't really think I'd care about, like the couple who are getting married.

In this film, the 7-year time jump feels realistic - you really believe that these two people haven't seen each other in almost a decade, and you understand the reason behind that.

The story is completely held together by Corrine. Pratt is a great actress, and she is one of the main reasons why the film works as well as it does.

What disappointed me about the film, which happens with a lot of these kinds of films, is the 3rd act conflict. The reasoning behind it was lame and completely changes the character of Rob. I went from rooting for this couple, to truly believing that Corrine could have done so much better than Rob - and she deserved so much better.

Overall this is a really cute story that's a lot of fun to watch, even if Corrine can do better! If you're looking for something to watch on Christmas Eve, it's this!

Originality - 3/10

Christmas Spirit - 8/10

Christmas Music - 3/10

And that's the end of Blogmas! It's been a fun one, with some great movies.

I'll be back with another post on the 27th!

Merry Christmas!
