Mistletoe Mixup | Blogmas Day 3
I'm a big fan of Joey Lawrence, so when I see him in a movie, especially a Christmas movie, I try to watch them. So the fact that this one included some of his family members, and had an interesting story, made it one that I was really excited to see.
When Holly (Danielle C. Ryan) meets two men (Matthew and Joey Lawrence) and decides to spend Christmas with one of them, she discovers that her two suitors are brothers.
I liked this movie. It was fun and interesting to watch.
The problem with love triangles, especially in short movies like this, is that one of the love interests is the clear winner almost from the beginning, and that's what happened here. Holly was clearly suited to one of the brothers more than the other, and so a lot of the film feels a bit pointless because ultimately it doesn't matter.
The dynamic between the Wright family is really fun, especially because they are all actually related. It felt authentic and made the comedy genuinely funny.
There are parts in the middle when it starts to drag on a bit and made the film feel longer than it was, mostly because the ending is so predictable. But even with that, I was still interested to see the couple finally get together.
Overall, this film was cute and enjoyable, and one that started to get me into the Christmas spirit (though it wasn't as Christmassy as I wanted it to be).
Originality - 5/10
Christmas Spirit - 5/10
Christmas Music - 3/10
It's 22 days until Christmas!
Come back tomorrow for Blogmas day 4!
