My September Disney Playlist!

Hey Guys x

For me, September so far has been a month of Disney!

I have been watching a lot of Disney movies this month, but more than that, I've been listening to a hell of a lot of Disney songs, and I am completely obsessed!

So I thought I'd show you some of the Disney songs that I've been listening to and loving this month!

After Ever After - Jon Cozart


This isn't a song from a Disney movie, but this is a parody of certain Disney movies and I completely love it! It's based on what would happen in the real world when the credits roll on our favourite Disney classics, and it's amazing! Honestly, it's the funniest song I've ever listened to, and Jon Cozart (aka Paint on YouTube) has the most amazing voice!

Someday My Prince Will Come - Snow White


Snow White is without a doubt the most annoying-voiced Disney princess, but I love this song so much, and as annoying as her voice is, I'm obsessed with it!
Also, a bit of Disney trivia: Apparently Walt Disney paid the actress who voiced Snow White to never feature on any other form of media because they didn't want her voice to be featured anywhere else!

Once Upon A Dream - Sleeping Beauty


I have a thing for prince Philip, and his first appearance with Aurora is one that I will watch over and over again because I just think it was perfect! Imagine singing a random song in a forest and a really hot guy comes up behind you, joins in, knows all the words, and convinces you to dance with him! It's weird in real life, but in Disney it's so romantic!

Let It Go - Frozen


The film that in such a short time is already a Disney classic! I love watching covers of this song on YouTube, and I am completely biased, but Carrie Fletcher has done one of  the best covers of the song that I've heard, so I'll leave that video here too! But honestly, who doesn't love to sing along to this song?


You'll Be In My Heart - Tarzan


I love Tarzan so much! I love the idea of the film and I've been listening to the songs a lot this month. This one in particular is one that I love because it kind of highlights the unconditional love that Kala has for her son, no matter where he comes from.

Strangers Like Me - Tarzan


Another from Tarzan, but for a completely different reason. This song is about being different from other people, and then finding someone that you can completely relate to. For me, this is a bit like blogging. Finding a group of people who share the same goals and understand the pros and cons of blogging and being a blogger, and I love this so much!

You've Got A Friend In Me - Toy Story


The first song from a Disney Pixar film. This is an amazing song and listening to it really makes me remember watching toy story when I was younger and really loving and hating the idea that toys can come to life as soon as you take your eyes off of them!

Hakuna Matata - The Lion King


"It means no worries for the rest of your days"- my favourite line from the song and something that I need to listen to every day, as someone who worries too much for her own good! Plus, how cute is Simba when he ages from a boy to a man?? I love it!

Belle - Beauty and the Beast


Belle has always been one of my favourite Disney princesses, and this song especially resonates with me, as she sings about wanting something more from her life, and showing that she doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of everyone else, which I think is something really important, particularly in the society that we live in where most of us just want to fit in.

Almost There - The Princess and The Frog


The final song in this playlist is the one that I've been listening to the most, because I find it really motivational. Tiana is singing about the fact that she can do whatever a man can do and, by working hard, she'll get exactly what she wants, which is something that a lot of people should do!

When ex-UFC fighter Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal) takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse, he soon finds that his past is quickly catching up to him. I've never seen the original Road House, and when I put this one on I wasn't really planning to review it, but I found myself really getting into it. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Both the characters and the story were a lot more engaging and compelling than I thought they would be. The story sucked me in right from the beginning and I was interested the whole way through. The cast is great, but Jake Gyllenhaal completely carries the film and plays the character of Dalton really well. Again, I can't compare his performance to the original, but I really like the character. The fight scenes, which are pretty much what the film is about, are done really well. Wonka | Film Review

Young Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) tries to follow his dreams to become a respected chocolatier, despite opposition at every turn . This film was never particularly high on my 'to-watch' list, but it was always on my radar, so I'm glad I've finally seen it. I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would, but I still definitely had problems with it! For a start, while I love the fact that it was a musical, I didn't actually like any of the actual songs. None of them really stood out (except the one that's already known) and having only seen the film yesterday, I can't remember any of them. In fact, while the songs didn't hurt the film, I also don't feel like they were completely necessary. I would have liked the film the same amount if it hadn't been a musical. Wonka is a really charming character, and Chalamet plays him really well. In fact, the entire cast is great - definitely the best thing about the film by a mile. The relationship b

Scarface (1983) | 100 Movies Bucket List

Next up for the Bucket List was another first-time watch! I'd seen the original 1932 film years ago and really liked it, but I never got around to watching this (undoubtedly more popular) version, so I'm glad it was on the list. I really really liked this movie. I'm not sure if I like it more than, or the same as the original, but I definitely had a great time with it. One thing about finally seeing all these classic movies is seeing how much impact they've had on pop culture, and this film is definitely no exception. It's so quotable, there are so many iconic images, and it's one that everyone should watch if they haven't seen it before. The most talked-about aspect of this film is probably the violence, and that's so interesting to see. Not only the way it's spoken about, but also the difference between violence in older films like this and newer releases. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it. American Psycho | 100 Movies Bucket List

This one was a re-watch. I'd seen this film once before watching it for the Bucket List. My memories of it weren't wholly positive - I didn't love the first watch, and while I didn't hate it, it wasn't a film that I was itching to watch again. Though saying that, I knew that I probably would watch it again eventually, because I knew how much of a classic it was. Like a lot of films I've watched for the Bucket List, I liked it more this time around than I did the first time, though I still didn't love it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I did really enjoy it. The writing was great and Christian Bale was amazing in the role, as were the supporting actors. For me, though, the most iconic thing about this movie is its soundtrack. The songs used are amazing and fit the movie so well.
