My Coffee Table Essentials!

I was recently contacted by a company called 'Chairish' who buy and sell vintage furniture.

They asked me if I'd like to write a post about some of my 'coffee table essentials' using one of their own coffee tables as inspiration, and of course I said yes because, not only is this type of post very 'me' anyway, but their tables are completely gorgeous!

I choose the 'Octagon Brass Coffee Table'  because it's so unique and completely beautiful! I don't live with any small children, so the idea of having a glass coffee table is really nice and the table itself is so sophisticated.



Below is how I'd style my table:



Let's start with the bottom left: Books! I'd stick with the book that you're currently reading, but you can always have multiple books! I couldn't have a coffee table without having at least one book, let alone a couple!

Next up, the scented candle! When it's not lit, it's going to make the table, and therefore the room, look so pretty! But when it's lit, the room will be filled with the best, most amazing smells imaginable!

Of course, the next thing would be a mug filled with your favourite hot beverage! Mine would be a nice hot chocolate, particularly in the winter months because that's the best time to drink it! But you can always have a mug of tea or coffee, anything that goes great with a good book!

At the top, we have a vase of flowers, essential to the decor of any living room! I'm not that big of a flower person, but you have to admit that they do make a great addition to any room, especially if they vase that you put them in is equally as gorgeous as the flowers themselves!

Last but not least, magazines! I'm that person in the doctor's waiting room who gets obsessed with the month old magazines that sit in the middle of the room. Having magazines is great when you have guests over because it gives them free reign to put their feet up and feel completely relaxed!

    I always have a hand lotion of some sort, I mean, I never use it but I do mean to! I really don't trust myself with candles, so I just have a lamp and I keep a troll doll for no reason other than decoration!

    Nice post Lou! I would have flowers, a candle, magazines, cup of tea, tissues and some ornarments. :)

This one was a re-watch. I'd seen this film once before watching it for the Bucket List. My memories of it weren't wholly positive - I didn't love the first watch, and while I didn't hate it, it wasn't a film that I was itching to watch again. Miller's Girl | Film Review

A creative writing assignment complicates the relationship between a teacher (Martin Freeman) and his student (Jenna Ortega). I heard about this film maybe once and remember being interested in it, but then I never heard anything about it again. So when I saw it was available to rent/buy on Prime Video, I decided to give it a shot.  I don't know what to make of this one. I didn't hate it, but there wasn't a lot to like. The only thing I did like was that Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega worked really well together and had good chemistry. I'd love to see them work together again, in a film with a better plot and a less weird (platonic) relationship. The characters are written really weirdly. There were many moments when they said things that were just so unbelievable, especially Jenna Ortega's character, Cairo. Snatch | 100 Movies Bucket List

I'd never heard of this film before last year, when I watched it for the first time, so this time around was my second watch. Guy Richie's movies tend to be a bit hit-or-miss for me. This is one of the only ones where I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. I didn't love the story, it didn't hold my interest the whole way through. But one thing that I absolutely loved was the dialogue. It was smart, quippy and made the film a much more fun watch than the plot itself would suggest. Another thing I absolutely loved was Brad Pitt's performance. This was probably one of my favourite roles of his. He did a great job with the character, and it was really different to everything else I've seen him in. But that being said, all of the performances were great. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it. I love... Bubble Bath Review

The flavours I'm reviewing are strawberry celebration (or 'strawberries and cream') and Mango and Papaya. The first thing I have to comment on is the smell of these. They smell so close to the fruits that they resemble, it's amazing! And it's not just me, on the back of the 'Strawberry Celebration' bottle, it says 'I AM NOT A FOOD' so I guess that the company are scared that people will try to eat it! The size and shape of the bottles means that the bottles are completely full of the bubble bath, which is great because you really do get your money's worth! On the website it says that it has real extracts of the fruits in it, which I think is great and really adds to the great smell. I tried the strawberry one first. I love the smell of this so much, just like strawberries! It looks really pink in the bottle, but when you put it on your skin it clears out, which I like because you don't have to worry about it leaving marks of colo
