Popular Movies I Haven't Seen!
Hey Guys x
So, from my alternative Blogmas posts last year, some of you guys might know how much I love films, and how passionate I am about them.
However, there are a lot of really popular films, that I'm not that interested in seeing.
They're not even the films that people recommend. They're the films that people quote and talk about assuming that everyone has seen them already.
If there are any films on this list that you love, tell me to watch them!
Titanic
I just want to get this one out of the way first, because this is the one that everyone is shocked at when they hear that I haven't seen it. I've seen the end bit when (spoiler alert!) she lets him fall into the sea, but apart from that, I haven't seen anything else. I know that it's a very long film, and I feel like you have to be in a particular mood to watch it. Or maybe I know that it's tragic and my subconscious is protecting me from heartache. Either way, I haven't seen it. I probably will watch it one day though!
The Star Wars Franchise
I haven't seen a single Star Wars movie, I know nothing of Star Wars. In the Wars/Trek debate I am a massive Star Trek fan, but even before I fell in love with it, Star Wars was never on my radar. I don't know what it's about or many of the characters, and I don't feel the need to find out. I'm sure it's great, but I'm probably not gonna watch it until I meet someone who forces me to. Currently, no one I know is a big fan of Star Wars, which may be another reason why I haven't seen it.
The Hunger Games Franchise
OK, this one is completely my bad. When The Hunger Games first came around, everyone was so into it, and that made me not want to watch it. I have this weird need to disagree with people, to hate the films that people love and to love the films that people hate, so I didn't watch it. However, I did read the book, and I really enjoyed it. I liked it so much that I wrote a Fanfiction based on it (which you can read here!) but I haven't yet gotten around to watching the movies. Yet.
To Kill A Mockingbird
This may not seem like a big deal, but as someone doing a degree in English lit, it's weird that I haven't seen this film! Surprisingly, although I've been doing English for so many years now (as I took it for A level and am now doing a degree in it) I've never had to read 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. Most people doing my degree have, but I've managed to escape reading it. And because of that, I've not even really thought about watching it. I do feel like I might make myself read the book in the future, because it's a classic. And after that, I may watch the movie... eventually.
The Silence of the Lambs
Again, this might not seem like a big deal. But as a massive horror fan, it is definitely weird that I haven't watched this absolute classic! I don't know that much about it, but I know that the villain is Hannibal Lecter, a name that I've heard so many times before! This is a film that horror enthusiasts love, so it is definitely on my list!
Mary Poppins
And last but not least, as a Disney fan, it's practically a crime that I haven't seen this iconic film! During my childhood, for me, Disney was all about the animations. I've seen most of the animated Disney movies and I have a great love for all of them. But real-life films never seemed like Disney to me, so I never wanted to watch this. To be honest, the only reason that this is even on my radar is because apparently Emily Blunt is going to be playing her in a new version. But still, I have no desire to see this film!
Thank you for reading!

I haven't watched the Star Wars series, too! I always end up being super quiet when my dad (yup, he is a huge Star Wars fan) or the internet get obsessed with it!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! xx
ReplyDeleteNo bog deal about Titanic, but the story line is good. Historic yes, but...**huff** film...? **smh**. You honestly need to watch Mary P, Hunger Games, even Bedknobs and Brommsticks, lollz. Both natural and animated. Please watch these (if you have or haven't), even so, the music. Feel free to listen to the tunes. They crack me up. I was honestly from the Princess eras, like Snow White (physical videos, than DVDs) so, mix that with "stranger danger"... I was questioning Disney on a lot of things. Haha. Stars Wars...love the costumes, I would say watch it for the stories. I NEED to watch Star Trek again. So bad, " Captains Log..." And the tune. Sorry, getting carried away. Haha. So, Hannibal is rubbing off on me. Saw a little of Hannibal Resurrected or something like that, actually, interesting. OK, I'll stop, but I've read the THG series too. Of course, don't go in with high hopes, but go in with the directors adaption/point of view. Still shows what the stories/author was SHOWING all along. Tc. Watch away, and good movie nights **gonna eat** :). Also for "...Mockingbird", same. I'm getting too wanting to know what it's about. Tc again.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this list! I'm definitely adding a few of these to mine! xx
