August Favourites | 2017
Hey Guys x
Sorry that this one is up so late this month! I said this before, but I ended up taking a break from blogging for the last week of August, and when I was planning what posts to write, I completely forgot this one!
Nevertheless, a late favourites post is better than none at all!
So, let's get on with it!
Favourite Movie (1): Annabelle: Creation
So, I put up a review of this last week, so I'll link that here! There's no point repeating what I said in that post, so I won't. But it's awesome!
Favourite Movie (2): All Eyez On Me
This is the recent biopic of Tupac Shakur. To be honest, one of the only reasons that I really wanted to watch it was because it stars Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie in the Vampire Diaries. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually a really good film. I mean, I don't know how accurate it was to his actual life, but it portrayed the hard upbringing, rise to fame, downfall and death of a popular mogul that people look up to. I'd definitely tell everyone of age to watch this!
Favourite TV Show: Parks and Recreation
After finishing The Office, I had a huge hole in my life for a 20-minute sitcom. Of course I'd heard people going on and on about Parks and Rec, and I always said that I'd 'eventually' watch it. But I did not expect to like it as much as I do! I admit, it took me until 3/4 of the way through the second season to actually like it, but now I'm on season 3 and it is such a good show! I firmly recommend it!
Favourite Song: Back To You
For some reason, I couldn't include the music video, so I put a live performance instead. But I am in love with this song, and the video. It's by Louis Tomlinson and Bebe Rexha, who are both artists that I don't really listen to. However, this song is definitely one to look out for. From what I can tell, it's about being in an unhealthy relationship, but always finding a reason to go back to the partner that makes you unhappy. It's such an interesting subject matter anyway, but coupled with an amazing song and really interesting video, I'd definitely watch it if I was you!
Favourite YouTuber: Daniel J Layton
I have to say this, I'm no longer a huge fan of the 'big' YouTubers at all (and by 'big', I mean the Gleam British ones, Zoella, Alfie Deyes etc) with the exception of a few, like Louise Pentland and Tanya Burr. Because of this, I've been getting into others, for example Jack and Dean, Hazel Hayes (my constant inspiration) and, as I call them, 'the under crew' - aka the people that deserve millions of subscribers but don't have them. Daniel J Layton is one of these, and I just love him. He has an amazing sense of humour, his passion about things he loves (Janet Jackson and GOT to name two) is hilariously real and relatable. And on top of that, his tweets are some of the funniest I've ever come across, and that's all without mentioning that he's a pretty great actor. Check out his channel/twitter/insta/everything right now!
Favourite Music Artist: Demi Lovato
I've always loved Demi, so it's surprising that she's not in this spot every month! However, I've fallen in love with her new-ish song 'Sorry, Not Sorry', which is why she's a fave. I also just love her and wanted to put her in for no other reason, so that's what I did!
Favourite Celebrity: The Originals Cast
Choosing which picture was the hardest thing I've had to do today! But this one definitely encapsulates the best parts of their personalities (yes Daniel Gillies, I'm looking at you!). Of course I love the show, but more than that, I love the individual cast members. I'm the type of person who, as soon as a film or show comes out, I immediately look for bloopers. I swear bloopers are my favourite thing, I wish horror movies had them! But they really show how well a cast gets on with each other, and this cast, from what I can tell, really do get on. It's refreshing to see a group of people laugh and banter and play around and love each other and also work hard to produce the best quality content. Plus, when things get deep on The Originals, it helps to know that they actually like each other in reality!
Favourite Video: Baking With Layton (Also Hannah Witton again)
You already know that I love Daniel, but I also really love Hannah Witton, so it was really nice to see the two together, baking what looked like an amazing chocolate loaf cake thing. It's quite nice to just watch other people bake and cook, even if it does just make you want to eat the food after!
Random Favourites
Fitness Blender
I've been working out recently, pretty much every day, sometimes twice a day. And I've realised that the only workouts that I like are Fitness Blender workouts. Whether they're low impact ones, HIIT ones, short ones, fat burning ones, Fitness Blender is the best for any type of workout and I completely love it! I only really work out with Kelli, and at times I hate her so much for making me work so hard! But she's a great trainer and I actually look forward to seeing her every evening!
'All I Need' - My TVD Fanfic
This is shameless self promo at it's finest, but I'm completely OK with that because I love this story! The trouble with writing the way I write is that, when I become passionate, I can't stop writing. So when I got really passionate about this story a few weeks ago, I wrote and wrote and wrote and completely finished it, which is great! However, because I upload once a week, I'm just patiently waiting for it to get to the storyline that I actually want people to read, which can be frustrating! However, I'm so proud of it, I'm so proud of finishing it, and I can't wait for people to read the latest bits that I've written. If you want to give it a read, you can do so here!
