Merry Christmas guys!

As usual, this is going to be the shortest of short posts because I'm not writing this on Christmas, and no one's taking the time to read this on Christmas day.

But I hope you had a really great December leading up to Christmas, and I hope that you have an amazing Christmas day, whether you celebrate it or not.

There's nothing else to say, but thank you for reading, whether it's just this post of all of my Blogmas posts, it means a lot.

I'll be posting again before next year, but for today, I'm out!

  The Fantastic Four face their biggest challenge when they have to defend Earth from an otherworldly villain. I can't lie, this isn't the Superhero movie that I was most looking forward to this year. After seeing and absolutely loving Superman and Thunderbolts* , I didn't know if I'd love this in the same way. Going into it, I wasn't a huge fan of all the casting choices, and feeling like the only person who absolutely loved the 2005 version and its sequel, I guessed that I might have mixed feelings about this one. And that's exactly what happened. I really liked the opening. You need absolutely no context to understand who these people are or what happened to them. The film tells you everything you need to know. I found the dialogue and character speech patterns hard to get used to. Spider-Man | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Before Spider-Man: No Way Home came out, I watched every Spider-Man movie back to back so I could be as prepared as possible for all the potential cameos and returning characters. Before that I had only seen one of Andrew Garfield's (and of course all of Tom Holland's), so it was only Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man that I was experiencing for the first time. And because of that, his three movies kind of blurred into one. So when I saw that this one was on the list, I was looking forward to seeing it again - not only so I could differentiate it from the other two movies, but also because I genuinely liked it! I know that origin stories have been a bit played out and have become a bit stale lately, but for me you can't beat a good origin story, and the background of the creation of Peter Parker into Spider-Man is one of the best origin stories out there. The Birth of a Nation (2016) | 100 Movies Bucket List

  I'd heard of this movie before seeing it on the bucket list, and I could guess what it was about, but it wasn't high on my to-watch list. So when I saw it on the list, I wasn't particularly looking forward to it. I don't love films with these themes, set in this and similar time periods - which doesn't mean that these films aren't good, I just personally don't choose to watch them unless I feel like I need to. And of course, they're not made to be entertaining or enjoyable, they're made to tell necessary stories. So it's hard to give a blanket statement about whether I 'liked' or 'disliked' the film. But one thing I did like was seeing so many recognisable faces - especially those who have blown up or been in really popular projects since the film came out. Realistic Dialogue | Like A Writer

Hey Guys x So, for today's instalment of 'Like A Writer' I want to talk about dialogue! For me, when I'm reading a book, one of the most annoying things is when the author has amazing descriptions, and I can picture everything perfectly, but then the character's speech is the most unrealistic thing. Like, in 'Fifty Shades of Grey', although for the most part, the descriptions were great, Ana's prolonged use of the phrase 'oh my' was so annoying! Like, what person randomly goes around saying 'oh my' all the time? But something that I find interesting is that, for script writing, this is so much more important! I guess, because in a movie or TV show, the dialogue is the most important because all that ever happens is people talking, either to other people or to themselves. You probably don't find this as interesting as I do, but as someone who thinks about script writing (or any other kind of writing, I'd literally do an...

Dr. No | 100 Movies Bucket List

  I've heard of all the James Bond movies, but the only one I've seen is the one that was on the bucket list last year - Casino Royale. And while I enjoyed that, it didn't make me want to watch any other movies in the franchise. So I can't say I was particularly excited to see this on the list.  However, as this one is the first, of course it's on a list of classic movies.  The score is iconic. I'm sure many of the movies use the same theme song moving forward, but it's great to experience it for the first time here because of how iconic it has become. Even if you know nothing of Bond, when you hear the score you immediately know what franchise it comes from.  It's interesting to see the way everything began. It's clear that things are being tried out and experimented with.  I can't say that the story itself grabbed me.
