Book Review #9: P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern

Image
First of all, I can't believe that this is my 10th review! Thank you to everyone who is reading this and has read my reviews prior to this one, it really means the world to me and I would be really happy if you continued to read them and left me a comment about what to read next!   P.S. I Love You is about a couple, Holly and Gerry, and their life as a married couple. They clearly love each other, but have the occasional fight, which is normal of any couple. Then, very suddenly, Gerry dies of a brain tumour. Not only does Holly have to respectively mourn the loss of the love of her life, but she has to decide what she will do without him. However, Gerry has already seen to this. He left her letters, each with a different instruction inside and each ending with 'P.S. I Love You', trying to help her to live her life without him by her side.   The idea of this story completely makes my heart melt. The idea that the couple's love for each other carries on thr...

Book Review #8: Tempting Fate by Jane Green

Image
I am a huge fan of Jane Green. There's a difference between being a fan of a book itself and being a fan of an author, and there are only a few authors that I can honestly say I am a fan of. I don't know what it is about Jane Green that makes me such a huge fan of hers, but I think it has a lot to do with the way that she writes. As someone who is between the stages of teenager and adult, her books appeal to me because, although I've only read two of them so far (this and 'The Patchwork Marriage') they are about adults, going through adult situations, but I can still read them and I am able to emphasise with the characters, which means that while reading them, I don't feel like I am reading an 'adult' book. 'Tempting Fate' is about a married couple, Gabby and Elliott, and their two daughters who are basically teenagers. Gabby wants to have another child before she loses her youth, but Elliott is happy with what they have. Then Gabby makes a...

Girl Talk: Looks vs Personality

Image
Many people believe that you can fall in love at first sight. Look at Romeo and Juliet: Fell in love, got married and died for each other within a 3 day period. They can't have fallen for each other's personalities because they didn't know each other. However, as these are fictional characters, can we suggest that 'Love at first sight' is real. I believe that, if someone tells you that they fell in love with you at first sight, then they weren't in love with you. They were, in fact, in love with the way that you look, which is in no way a bad thing. Everyone wants someone to be physically attracted to them. But is that the most important thing? Personally, I believe in the quote above. Falling in love with someone's looks don't guarantee any longevity in your relationship. Falling in love with someone's personality makes you find the way that they look much more attractive. Most girls believe that boys fall in love with your looks first, and ...

The Youtuber Questions, Awards and Families Tag!!

It's time for another tag! I thought that, as I have been horrible at posting this week, rather than posting a review, I would post something that's a bit more fun and that I could spend a bit of time on. I have independently created a tag that I want as many of you reading to do as possible. I have created 29 questions, strictly about youtubers that fall into 3 categories: Questions based on you, Youtuber Awards and Your YouTube family. Feel free to read through my questions and them do them for your own blogs! As there are a lot of questions, I'll keep my explanations short but feel free to expand on yours! Questions about You! Favourite Female Youtuber? At the moment, my favourite female youtuber is Zoe Sugg (Zoella) as I am addicted to watching her vlogs and she really makes me want to start a youtube channel. She actually inspired me to start this blog. Favourite Male Youtuber? Going hand-in-hand with Zoe Sugg is her brother Joe Sugg. Choosing this was a much...

Do More Of What You Love

I haven't posted a blog post in the last two days, due to exams, so I thought I would do a totally unplanned post based on something that  strongly believe, and something that a lot of youtubers talk about and stand by. Why do something if it doesn't make you happy? I believe that, if you love something, then you shouldn't stop doing it based on someone else's feelings about you. If there's something in the back of your mind that you'd love to do (such as creating a blog) then do it, don't worry about what people will think of you. Break the rules and take chances, you only get one life and only you can decide how you're going to live it. Thank you for reading. I hope this post has made your day much more positive! Sorry that it was so short, but as I said, I have exams xx Comment below what keeps you positive!

Cooking With Lou: Sticky BBQ Chicken

Image
This is something new that I am trying. I cook practically every week and never post what I make.   My dad has been teaching me how to cook for at least a few months now, so I thought, why not share some of our recipes on my blog, while testing my minimal photography skills! Ingredients: Sunflower oil Chicken          Seasonings (Any you can find)         Mixing the seasonings together beforehand gives the best effect.                         Sweet BBQ sauce (Ketchup, Worcester sauce, chilli sauce and honey)     Method: 1) Wash chicken in salt water   2) Fill a pan 1/2 full with oil Turn hob on and allow the oil to heat up   3) Season chicken Use your hands to thoroughly coat the chicken with the seasonings   4) Place seasoned chicken in b...

Girl Talk: Shopping

Image
It is a common misconception that, from birth, all girls love to shop. This may be true for you and your group of friends. Who doesn't enjoy window shopping and buying something new to play around with? I've noticed that internet shopping is becoming a much bigger thing, in some cases putting normal shops out of business. When did it become the norm to buy things based on pictures that we've seen on the internet? I've been thinking about this more lately with the EBay hacking crisis. People complain that teenagers don't leave home enough, but they make everything that we will ever need available on the internet. It sounds like a bit of a contradiction to me. Just because we are girls doesn't mean that we all enjoy shopping for the same things. Most of my friends enjoy shopping for clothes. They purchase outfit after outfit without wearing the first few that they bought. Other friends of mine are more into make-up. They have to buy a lip-gloss, for exam...
