Book Review #3: 'Before I die' by Jenny Downham

Not Just a Cancer Book. I mentioned this book before when I was reviewing The Fault in our Stars. This is because both of these books has a common theme. Cancer. 'Before I die' is based on the life of 16-year-old Tessa Scott, who is dying of cancer. But Tessa decided that before she dies, she wants to do things that will make her life worth living. With the help of her best friend Zoe and hot neighbour Adam, Tessa makes a list of things that she will do before she takes her final breath. As the title of this post states, this is not your average cancer book. Not only is it about Tessa and her unfortunate condition, but it has the makings of a classic coming-of-age novel, showing Tessa and Zoe for what they truly are, teenagers. Tessa's condition has made her grow up long before she should have, and her bucket list is a way for her to claw back some of the teenage rebellion that every teenager should experience. As well as this, the novel also tackles the problem...

April Favourites!

My Favourite things this month. After seeing many YouTubers and bloggers do this, I have decided that on the 28th of each month, I'll be showing you my favourite things, starting now, in April. My Favourite Movie: Divergent I saw this movie 2 days after it came out. I went with some friends and, at first, I was apprehensive. As you know, I've read the book and I completely loved it. But films are never as good as their book counterparts. Anyway, I went with quite low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the film a very accurate representation of the book, but it may be the best film adaptation of a book that I have seen! I recommend that, if you have read the book, see the film! Favourite TV Show: New Girl I had seen bits and pieces of this series since it came on, but earlier this month, I decided to purchase the first season. I am currently less than half way through but I am in love with it! The funny char...

Frozen | Film Review

Calling all Disney fans! Frozen is a film that I watched for the first time a week ago. I had heard good things about it but had accepted the fact that it may not be 'me'. I am a Disney girl at heart but I have been disappointed with the films that the Disney crew have been producing over the past year or so. Frozen surprised me. This is because it was a very good film. From the offset, we get caught up in the story of sisters Anna and Elsa. We see how close they are and it makes everyone wish that they had the relationship that these sisters had. I won't give much away, but things don't stay that way. Meeting favourable characters along the way, the film I a feel-good movie that the whole family will love. Like Mulan and other films, it shows that women are just as capable of saving the day as men, which is good as it tells children not to expect a hero to be there for you every time you stumble. What is good? As I said before, the whole family are...
