3 Month Favourites | October - December 2024

It was really hard this year to decide what's going into this short Favourites post, and what's going into tomorrow's 2024 Favourites post. I have so many great things to write about this year!

Favourite Movie (1): Juror #2

I finished watching this movie about 10 minutes ago and immediately knew it had to go on this list. I'll review it in the new year but it's such an amazing film, definitely worth watching if you get the chance.

Favourite Movie (2): The Substance

This is another one that I'll be reviewing in the new year, so I won't say too much about it here, but all the positive reviews and hype is completely founded - this was a wild ride in the best way!

Favourite Movie (3): Unicorns

And another one that I'll be reviewing in the new year, but I absolutely loved this film. It's currently on Netflix in the UK and is absolutely worth a watch!

Favourite Movie (4): Woman of the Hour

I reviewed this film HERE and made no secret of how much I loved it, so it's no surprise that it's on this list. 

Favourite TV Show (1): The Vampire Diaries

I mentioned this show in my last Favourites post, but I finished it this month so I had to add it again. I really really loved rewatching the show and had no idea how emotional finishing it would make me. There's a reason it's always stuck with me.

Favourite TV Show (2): The Great

This is the newest show I've started watching - I usually don't start shows so late in the year but I made an exception because I heard such good things about this show, and they're completely true! I'm still on season 1 but I'm absolutely loving it so far!

Favourite Song (1): The Vampire Diaries Soundtrack

I've picked three of my favourites, but one of the best things about watching TVD is the amazing soundtrack. All of the episodes (to my recollection) end with a song and so many of the songs are amazing!

Favourite Song (2): Heathers Soundtrack

I watched the filmed stage version of this musical on Prime and I had to include the soundtrack here. I've loved the songs in isolation since the soundtrack came out years ago, but now having seen the show and being able to put the songs into context, I love them all so much more!

Favourite YouTuber: Zoe Sugg

Zoe has been doing Vlogmas this month and it is so much fun to watch her vlogs every day. December is my favourite month and having Vlogmas around just makes it even better. It was so much fun to watch all the days in the lead up to Christmas.

Favourite Actor: Nicholas Hoult

Given he's in two of the projects on this list it's kind of obvious that I've been loving his work recently. Not only have I been delving back into old loves (Skins, X-Men, The Menu) and finding new loves (Juror #2, The Great, Renfield) but I'm also so excited for his upcoming projects - I'll definitely be in the cinema for The Order, Nosferatu and Superman when they come out! Whether he just picks great projects or elevates the projects he's already in, he's always incredible and I will always be in line to see everything he's in.

Favourite Book (1): The Sun Down Motel

I reviewed this book HERE - I thought it was a great read. I've been delving a bit more into horror this year and this was a really good one. I had a really fun time reading it and want to get more into horrors next year!

Favourite Book (2): If The Shoe Fits

I read this book too late in the year to review it, and while I didn't completely love it, I did have a lot of fun reading it. I loved the character of Cindy and while I didn't quite buy the love story, I loved the reality TV angle and I really want to read more books with similar settings.
