My Summer Wishlist

If you live in the UK, you would have joined me in experiencing the heat wave that we are currently going through! 30-35 degrees may not seem hot at all to people who don't live in or haven't experienced temperatures in the UK before, but trust me, it is crazy hot over here!
 
I am not a huge fan of summer. That seems like a strange thing to say, but I prefer life within the winter months. My birthday, Christmas, Halloween, Bonfire night and New Years are all towards the end of the year and these are some of my favourite times (Particularly my birthday and Christmas), but as we are well into summer, I need to learn to accept that it's just going to get hotter!
 
Because my birthday is right at the end of the month (December 12th), every year, I have a whole list of things that I want, but have to wait for until my birthday or Christmas to get them from friends and family.
 
I thought I would show you guys a list of things that I want to buy, or be bought for me, this summer!
 

A Tablet

 
I love reading, and I have so many books that I have to get through, some of which are eBooks. I don't have a kindle or an iPad to read these eBooks, and I think that a tablet would be the easiest thing to get because I could read, use the internet, and I've been told that they're cheaper than iPads!
 

Harem Pants

I got my first pair of Harem Pants a few weeks ago and I can't stop wearing them! If I didn't have to go to college, I'd never take them off! (I could wear them to college, but I don't feel they'd be appropriate for the fashion show that society says we should dress for 24/7) I saw this exact version and I loved them! Especially for summer, because the bright colour reminds me of warmth and I think it would look nice with just a normal black t-shirt.
 

Sunglasses

 
I wear glasses. And if you also do, you feel my pain in the fact that wearing sunglasses is a choice between having fashion and having sight! Granted, I have quite bad eyesight, but I have never been one for prescription sunglasses, so I've always chosen not to wear them. However, in Niomi Smart's 'March Favourites' video, she showed the sunglasses above and I instantly fell in love with them. I doubt I'd be able to get them as prescription sunglasses, but I think I want to buy them anyway, to wear if I go to the beach or something while I'm on holiday.
 

Driving Lessons

 
I kind of feel like I am leaving this late, but I need to learn to drive! Depending on where you go, the lessons can be quite expensive. And due to my exams last month, I didn't think it was the right time to learn. But this summer is definitely the right time! I want to have a license and be saving up to buy a car before January 2015, I just hope I can get there!
 

Heels

These shoes are on the ASOS website and I loved them as soon as I saw them! I have never tried to walk in heels. I am an extremely clumsy person who stumbles bare-foot, so it never made sense to put obstacles under my feet. But I figure that I have to learn to walk in heels sometime!
 

A Piercing

 
 
This particular piercing is called a 'scaffolding', and this is the piercing that I have wanted for the last year at least. Different things have stopped me from getting it, or put me off. But I figure, if I don't get it now, I'll probably chicken out and never get it!
 

A Dress

I love this dress! I have only really started wearing dresses this summer and have fallen in love with them. I found this dress and immediately wanted to buy it. I'm going nowhere special this summer, but I still think I'm going to buy this dress, or a dress quite similar to this. It is a style that I love and I love the black and white theme.

Young Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) tries to follow his dreams to become a respected chocolatier, despite opposition at every turn . This film was never particularly high on my 'to-watch' list, but it was always on my radar, so I'm glad I've finally seen it. I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would, but I still definitely had problems with it! For a start, while I love the fact that it was a musical, I didn't actually like any of the actual songs. Scarface (1983) | 100 Movies Bucket List

Next up for the Bucket List was another first-time watch! I'd seen the original 1932 film years ago and really liked it, but I never got around to watching this (undoubtedly more popular) version, so I'm glad it was on the list. I really really liked this movie. I'm not sure if I like it more than, or the same as the original, but I definitely had a great time with it. One thing about finally seeing all these classic movies is seeing how much impact they've had on pop culture, and this film is definitely no exception. It's so quotable, there are so many iconic images, and it's one that everyone should watch if they haven't seen it before. The most talked-about aspect of this film is probably the violence, and that's so interesting to see. Not only the way it's spoken about, but also the difference between violence in older films like this and newer releases. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it. American Psycho | 100 Movies Bucket List

This one was a re-watch. I'd seen this film once before watching it for the Bucket List. My memories of it weren't wholly positive - I didn't love the first watch, and while I didn't hate it, it wasn't a film that I was itching to watch again. Though saying that, I knew that I probably would watch it again eventually, because I knew how much of a classic it was. Like a lot of films I've watched for the Bucket List, I liked it more this time around than I did the first time, though I still didn't love it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I did really enjoy it. The writing was great and Christian Bale was amazing in the role, as were the supporting actors. For me, though, the most iconic thing about this movie is its soundtrack. The songs used are amazing and fit the movie so well. They're used in such a unique, original way, that it feels like this alone makes the movie a classic. The film is really well made, and even though I don't love i

The Matrix | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Next up for the Bucket List was a first-time watch. This is one that I had obviously heard of but knew next to nothing about. I found that it took a long time for me to connect with the story, and even then, while the film was interesting to watch, I never felt particularly invested in it. There were a lot of recognisable, iconic moments that I appreciated, and I get how much of an impact it had on sci-fi (and probably movies in general), but I don't know if it was for me. I somewhat enjoyed it, I understood everything that happened, but never felt connected, and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. It could just be that I need to re-watch it, and I probably will, but for a first watch, I didn't take to it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I'm glad I finally watched it!
