May Favourites | 2019

Hey Guys x

My last Favourites post didn't have a lot in it, so I'm kind of making up for that today!

Tell me your May Faves in the comments!

Favourite Movie (1): Greta

I'm not saying anything about this whatsoever because I have a review of it going up soon, but if you get the chance to see it... see it!

Favourite Movie (2): Snowpiercer

This recently became available on UK Netflix, and to be honest, I didn't think I'd like it. It seemed dark, and odd, and I had no idea what I was in for when I started it - I actually only watched it because it stars an amazing group of actors. But to my surprise, I loved this movie. It's about a world where an ice age has wiped out the majority of the population, and everyone left is living on a train. However, the poorest on the train live in horrendous conditions, so decide that the only way to save themselves is to get control of the engine room.
Watch this, because it's an amazing film with a great message, amazing acting and amazing direction. Watch this film!

Favourite TV Show (1): It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

I'm currently binge watching this, I have four episodes to go until I'm finished the current season, and I'm loving it so much. It hits the spot of being a hilarious show that you can really get into, whilst also being a show that you can leave running in the background while doing other things and still get the full effect of it.

Favourite TV Show (2): Marvel's The Defenders & Marvel's Jessica Jones

I know I've been way too late to this, but I've been getting really into the Marvel TV shows this month, and I really love them. I haven't watched them all, and was completely unfamiliar with Iron Fist, but Jessica Jones is my favourite of the four, and The Defenders was a really great way of bringing all of these characters together.

Favourite TV Show (3): Charmed

I don't feel like I talk about this show enough. It's a reboot of the old series, and I think it's amazing. There's so much about the show to love, with the originality, great script, great characters and actors, plus all the magic and mystery, there's always something new to learn, and there's always a different character to fall in love with.

Favourite Song: The Last Five Years Soundtrack

I watched this film for the first time this month, and immediately fell in love with the music from it, which I'd never heard before. So many of the songs are beautiful, but my favourites are 'Still Hurting', 'See I'm Smiling', 'Shiksa Goddess' and 'I Can Do Better Than That', because not only are they amazing songs, but they're really integral to the story of this couple's relationship, but there's so many great songs to choose from!

Favourite YouTuber: Carrie Hope Fletcher

In May, Carrie has been doing a series called 'May, Myself and I', in which she uses a single word as a prompt and then talks about something related to that word. It's such a great series, usually because your own interpretation of the word is probably wildly different to what she talks about in her videos, but it's also great because it's easy for others to get involved. I've been thinking about doing it on this blog one month, but don't know if I'd have something to say about all of the words. But it's definitely something to think about!

Favourite Game: Bakery Town

I didn't think I'd love this game as much as I do. It's a game where you basically build a bakery from the ground up, cooking food that you have to actually wait for. For example, if you're cooking something that takes 24 hours to make, you have to actually wait 24 hours. It probably sounds weird and boring but I find it so fun. I guess I like it because there's always something new to achieve, whether that's a new level, a bakery extension, or something like that. It's just something fun and nice to play when you have some extra time on your hands, and trust me, it gets addictive!

Favourite Actor: Chris Evans

Given my love of Marvel this definitely can't come as much of a surprise. Not only is Chris Evans an amazing actor, whether playing Captain America or any of his other great characters (Some of my favourites coming from 'Snowpiercer', 'What's Your Number' and 'Gifted'), but he also just seems to be a great person in general. Whether you're watching his interviews, or looking at his tweets, he seems like a person who fights for what he believes in, and isn't afraid to talk about topics that help the people who look up to him, such as mental health. Either way, I'm really proud to be a fan of him.

Favourite YouTube Video: Chris and Rosie Ramsey | Happy Mum, Happy Baby

The first thing I have to say is that this video is an AD, because I know some people feel weird about that, so just putting it out there.

This is an episode of a podcast that Gi Fletcher did with Chris and Rosie Ramsey (who have their own incredible podcast, 'Shagged, Married, Annoyed', which everybody should be listening to!) and it was such an interesting episode. Not only was it completely hilarious (Because Chris and Rosie are two of the funniest people in the world) but there were also a lot of really lovely, heartfelt moments that I just loved hearing about. It's over an hour long, but it's completely worth it, especially if you don't know who Chris and Rosie are - because you'll be in love with them by the time it's done!

Do we have any favourites in common?

Lou
