Avengers: Endgame | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x I just got back from the cinema and am writing this pretty much straight away because I wanted to remember exactly how I was feeling right after seeing the film. I've been a huge fan of the MCU for years, and had so many hopes tied into this film. So in the simplest way, this film is a big deal. After the events of 'Infinity War', when Thanos completed his mission of erasing half the world, the remaining Avengers are out of ideas, hopeless, and trying to move on with their lives. But when a small ray of hope makes itself known, the team puts everything on the line to bring back what Thanos took from them. And they'll do whatever it takes to make things right again. Amazing isn't a strong enough word to describe this film. Incredible? Epic? Well, it's all of these things and more. There's so much to say about it, particularly while carefully avoiding spoilers, as the film really is best when you know as little as possible about it. ...

Dog Days | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x This is a movie that I really wanted to see when it came out in the cinema, but unfortunately I missed it. However, last week I noticed that it has since come onto Netflix, so once again, I was really excited to see it! A group of people with seemingly no connection become involved in each other's lives, in one way or another, because of their love of dogs. That was the best way I could describe the film without comparing it to other movies, but truthfully, it's like a version of 'Valentine's Day'/'New Year's Eve'/'Mother's Day'/'Love Actually' but with more dogs . However, what's different (apart from the dogs) is that there seem to be less main characters than those other movies. You have the chance to get to know each of these characters easily and equally. All of these characters, for the most part, are extremely likeable. This might be because you can really get to know them, or just because they all were...

Someone Great | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x This is a new Netflix original movie, and to be honest, it wasn't really on my radar at all until I saw who was in it. A lot of the time, Netflix releases bland-looking movies that you've never heard of, promotes them for a week, and then you never hear about them again. I immediately thought that this would be one of them, but when I saw the cast and actually read the plot, I was really intrigued by the premise. Jenny (Gina Rodriguez) has just been dumped by her boyfriend Nate (Lakeith Stanfield), days before she's supposed to move. Desperate to get out of her miserable state, she and her two best friends, Erin (DeWanda Wise) and Blair (Brittany Snow), decide to have one last crazy night out together before everything changes. But will one night be able to make them forget all of their relationship troubles? I actually enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I would at the beginning. The first note I wrote about the film is that it starts off as ...

Happy Death Day 2U | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x I saw the first Happy Death Day when it came out, and after seeing it a few times I really enjoyed it for what it was, a fun horror movie with an original premise. So when I heard that Blumhouse were making a second movie, as intrigued as I was, I was also extremely sceptical. College student Tree (Jessica Rothe) has just been freed from the time loop that she was stuck in, where she relived the same day (her birthday) over and over again, dying at the end of each day, until she discovered who was killing her. However, just when she thinks that the problem has been solved, she discovers who started the time loop in the first place. And suddenly, living the same day over and over again isn't Tree's biggest problem. But can she figure out how to destroy the time loop once and for all before it's too late? I had to watch this film twice before I felt confident enough to review it. Upon first viewing, I really didn't know what to make of it. I couldn'...

Five Feet Apart | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x I went to see this film in the cinema last week on a whim - I heard very little about it and saw no trailers. Usually when I go to the cinema blind I wind up being pleasantly surprised, and this was no different. Stella (Haley Lu Richardson) has Cystic Fibrosis, and spends most of her time trying to control the only aspect of her life that she is able to - her regimen. When to take her meds, when to have different methods of treatment, when to relax... she has her routine down. But one thing that she doesn't account for is meeting Will (Cole Sprouse), another CFer who wouldn't follow a routine if it would save his life. Because of their conditions, the two aren't allowed to be within six feet of each other, but soon they find that six feet is too far apart. Will they break the rules, and risk endangering their lives - or will Stella stick to her strict regimen, even if it means never being able to touch the boy she loves? I really enjoyed this movie. A ...

Ranking The Star Wars Movies!

Image
I am the latest person in the world when it comes to the Star Wars movies. All through my childhood and teenage years I had absolutely no desire to watch them. And then suddenly, at the ripe old age of 22, I really wanted to watch them. So I watched all the movies within a week. I didn't want to write reviews on each one, because I didn't have a lot to say about some of them, but I did want to talk about them all, so I thought that I'd do the same thing I did with the X-Men movies, and rank them, giving each one a brief review. Also, there might be spoilers for some of the movies, because they came out so long ago. But I'll try not to spoil anything major, and I certainly won't spoil the two newest ones (The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi)! I'm not including 'Rogue One' or 'Solo', so this is just for the specific Star Wars, episode whatever movies. Tell me what your Star Wars ranking is! 8. Episode II - Attack of the Clones The only t...

March Favourites | 2019

Image
Hey Guys x You know the drill by now, so I'm just gonna get straight into it! What were your favourite things in March? Favourite Movie (1): What If I feel like this film isn't spoken about enough when people talk about rom-coms, which is a shame because I thought it was great! It handles the age-old question of whether men and women really can be just friends, with no romantic attraction. But it handles that in such an original way, with witty, realistic dialogue, and a main couple that you can really root for. Give it a watch if you get the chance (It's on Amazon Prime!). Favourite Movie (2): The 'Star Wars' Franchise I've written a post all about this, that'll go up sometime this week. But two weeks ago I watched all the films in quick succession, and completely fell in love with this new world - and I can't wait for Episode IX in December! Favourite Movie (3): Okja To be honest, I didn't really expect to like this film. Because...
