Nine Months and The Music Tag!

Image
(Yes, I did just use the fact that I've been blogging for nine months to plug one of my favourite films ever - let it go)   Hey Guys!   On Monday, my blog hit nine months old! I completely forgot about it and only remembered on Wednesday, when I did my monthly favourites post.   Nine months is a hell of a long time! I mean, that's how long it takes to make a human!   Honestly though, thank you so much to everyone who has been reading my posts, commenting on them and, just chatting with me about them. It means more than you know and has helped me to keep thinking of different post ideas every time I post.   I've achieved a lot with this blog over the last 9 months and I couldn't be happier with it now. Not only the design of it, but the quality of my posts and my ideas.   I made a decision as the new year came in that I would make my posts a lot more personal, so that I could be a lot more passionate about them. On the one...

January Favourites!

Image
Hey Guys x It's time for another 'Favourites' posts! I feel like I haven't done this in absolute ages and I have so many great things to share with you this month! Favourite Movie: Love Actually I know that this is a Christmas film, but... wow. How amazing is this film? I watched it late this year, in the beginning of January, and I loved it so much! The thing is with Christmas films, as soon as Christmas is over, we completely forget about them until it's time to watch them again. It makes me forget all of the amazing Christmas films that there are! If you haven't seen this, you need to! Favourite TV Show: Brooklyn 99   The new series of this has started and I am so happy! I watched the whole first season in the Summer Holidays and I completely fell in love with it. It's all about a group of police officers and the different crimes they solve, but it's a complete comedy! If you don't watch this, watch the first few episodes because y...

Driving Anxiety

Image
I received driving lessons for my 18th birthday in December, and since then I have had 4/5 2 hour lessons. And what I've learnt from this, is that driving completely terrifies me! I have massive amounts of anxiety anyway, so I always knew that I would be a bit anxious the first few times I got into the car. But this is like the worst anxiety that I've ever had! I think the main problem is the control. I know most people have panic attacks of anxiety problems when they fear that they have no control over something. But for me, the prospect of having full control over this car is the most scary thing. It probably sounds stupid, but like, when I touch the accelerator and the car moves, I just find it incredible weird. I have never had that kind of control before and having it for the first time was too much for me. Even thinking about an upcoming lesson makes me really anxious because I'm scared of losing control of the car and, maybe, causing an accident or som...

The Small Blogger Appreciation Award!

Image
I love finding a lot of small bloggers, in the sense of followers. But it annoys me that a lot of the people that I read don't have a lot of people reading them. I know that most people don't post for the followers, but everyone wants to have people reading. If we didn't want people to read our posts, we'd write a diary! So I've created this award/tag to appreciate all of the small bloggers that I love to read, and seeing the smaller bloggers that you guys love to read too! The rules 1) Answer all of the questions honestly 2) Link every blogger you mention 3) Try not to mention the same blogger more than twice (promote as many people as possible!) 4) Nominate/tag everyone you mention (and everyone else you like!) 5) At the end, give someone your 'small blogger appreciation award'! 6) You have to tag at least 5 people, but the more the better! 7) Let people know they've been tagged (or won your award) by commenting on their blogs I'...

Baking Marble Cake!

Image
Last week Saturday, I made Marble cake with my mum and sister! So obviously I got my camera out so I could show you what we were doing! A few of you have commented on my baking posts, telling me to bake more, so I thought that I'd take a load of pictures and talk you through the recipe so you can make it too! The weirdest thing about this recipe is that you are literally making two cakes and putting them together! You'll see what I mean! Ingredients Self-raising flour   Vanilla Extract Unsalted butter   Milk      Sugar     4 Eggs   Cocoa powder Method I'm going to explain the recipe for the chocolate part of the cake. The vanilla part is exactly the same but with vanilla essence rather than cocoa powder. (Just don't want to write the same thing out twice!) 1) Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (gas mark 4) and grease a loaf tin. 2) Put 125g of sugar and 125g of b...

Fairy Tales

Image
I want to live in a Fairy Tale. This may seem weird or naïve, but I really do. I'm not saying I want to live in a Disney movie (just because I didn't say it doesn't mean it isn't true!), but an actual, real life fairy tale. I know what you may be thinking. Something along the lines of: "Lou's going crazy, she really believes that fairy tales exist" And maybe I am a little bit crazy, but I still believe. The same way that some people believe in mermaids or fairies or witches or ghosts, I believe in fairy tales. I've looked up many definitions of a fairy tale, but this one shows me that they actually do exist: In less technical contexts, the term is also used to describe something blessed with unusual happiness, as in "fairy tale ending" (a happy ending )or "fairy tale romance" Who doesn't want unusual happiness? I guess this stems from my belief in true love. I suppose most people believe in true love, but...

How To: Deal With Rejection | Advice

Image
DISCLAIMER: This post isn't about rejection in a relationship. Maybe some of the things I say can be applied to it, but that isn't the intention as I have no idea how to deal with relationship rejection. This is about getting rejected from a job or a university or something. At some point in our lives, we will all probably face rejection. I faced a rejection last week and let me be the first to say that it feels horrible, and makes you feel horrible. But planning this post has really helped me to deal with it. This is because, thinking up things to help you guys out has kind of resulted in me helping myself out. So just know that I have tried my suggestions and they do work (for me!). Even if you haven't been through a rejection yet, I hope you still enjoy reading this post! Mourn the rejection This may seem like a weird first step, but it's definitely the easiest one. If it was something that you really wanted, like a job, and you got turned down, you'...
