Ticket to Paradise | Film Review

I was really looking forward to seeing this one! I love a rom-com, and I love seeing George Clooney and Julia Roberts on screen together, so this was a no-brainer.

When their daughter (Kaitlyn Dever) announces her engagement to a man she hardly knows, David (George Clooney) and Georgia (Julia Roberts) put their hate for each other aside to stop her from making the same mistake they made.

I really enjoyed this movie, it was what I wanted it to be, and what I thought it would be.

As expected, the chemistry between Clooney and Roberts is still as amazing as always. But in saying that, the entire cast is incredible.

The film is genuinely funny without having to try too hard. It doesn't quite keep up this momentum as it continues, but is still enjoyable all the way through.

One thing that felt a bit jarring was that, in terms of the daughter's wedding, it felt like the film was trying to stop us from being on the parents' side, but I was on their side and still am. It was like the writers made the daughter make a reckless decision, and then made it seem that no one other than the parents could see this. In turn, this made the parent's actions seem over the top, but in another movie, it wouldn't have seemed so crazy.

The film is predictable, but it's also equally adorable.

I didn't love the ending, but I definitely enjoyed the journey.

Overall, this is an adorable movie. If you're a fan of rom-coms, any of the actors involved, or mid-credit blooper reels, then this is definitely one for you.

Technically the '100 Movies' in the Bucket List are really 106, because there are a couple of squares that contain trilogies that only count as one movie. This is one of them. When Cassie Webb (Dakota Johnson) starts to have visions of the future, she sets out to protect three teenage girls from a mysterious assailant. This movie has become a bit of a joke on the internet, supposedly for how bad it is. It wasn't really on my radar at all, and I wasn't planning to watch it until I saw all the negative reviews. But I had to know if it was as bad as everyone said! Surprisingly (to me), I didn't hate this film. It's not good, but it also wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. However, I will say that for the first 30 minutes, it was bad. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, what the film was about, or where it would be going. But once the three girls were introduced, I started to really get into it. I loved the idea of these girls being connected because of their futures, and I liked the way this was discovered. Looking for a fresh start, Jamie (Margaret Qualley) and Marian (Geraldine Viswanathan) take a road trip, unaware that their rented car contains an important package that a group of criminals will do anything to find. I remember seeing the trailer for this film a couple of months ago at the cinema, and while I wasn't itching to see it, it looked light and fun, so it was definitely on my radar. I loved this movie! It was so much better than I was expecting it to be! For a start, I loved the characters from their first seconds on screen. The main actresses have great chemistry and it's so fun watching them together. Not only did I enjoy the acting and the way the characters were written, but the dialogue was brilliant. You really enjoy just watching these people interact regardless of the situation they're in. A lot of the cast was unexpected, and I loved that. The Rocky Horror Picture Show | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Another first-time watch! The entire extent of my knowledge about this film is the songs that were covered on Glee. So while the music was familiar, I had no idea what the actual plot was about. I'm actually a bit disappointed that I didn't love it as much as I wanted to. For the time that it was made it was funny and progressive, it broke down barriers and was very ahead of its time. And yet, it was a bit too out there for me, which is strange because I'm sure I've seen weirder films. And that's not to say I didn't enjoy it, because I did have a good time, but I couldn't get completely into it.  The music was great, and the way that it was used to build the characters was really smart and interesting. Airplane! | 100 Movies Bucket List

  This was a first-time watch, and I had no idea what it was about. It was a bit surprising to me that there weren't a lot of comedies on the Bucket List, but then thinking about it more, comedies, romances and horrors are probably the least-valued genres in terms of critical acclaim, which is really unfortunate because there are some incredible movies in those categories. But because of that, I was really happy to see a comedy on the list, especially one that's widely known as being 'one of the 10 funniest movies ever made' according to the Paramount Plus description. So I had somewhat high hopes for it! I enjoyed the movie a lot.  The film was released in 1980, and while the humour works for that time period, I really believe it works for a modern audience too.
