Merry Christmas!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! I don't have anything to say today, and I'm not gonna make you spend part of your Christmas day reading a huge post. But I do want to say that Blogmas this year hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be. In fact, it's been fun. I haven't really been in a festive mood this year, and I'm still not - I guess that's just something that happens. But the blogmas posts that I've read and the vlogmas videos that I've watched have been so festive that they've kind of rubbed off on me, so thanks for that! And in general, whether you read one post of the whole of my Blogmas 2017, thanks for sticking with me, I really appreciate it. So that's the end of Blogmas, but there will still be posts up before the end of the year, so this is in no means a goodbye post. I hope you have the happiest of Christmases. Tell me what you're doing for your Christmas day in the comments! And if your Christmas has already fini...

A Bad Moms Christmas | Blogmas Day 24

Image
Happy Christmas Eve guys! So as you can tell, today's review is 'A Bad Mom's Christmas'. It's the first time this Blogmas that I've reviewed a movie that is actually a Christmas movie! Also, if you haven't seen the first Bad Mom's film, you might want to! In the last movie, three mothers decided that they wanted to stop trying to be perfect. This time around, these mothers have decided to stop trying to have the perfect Christmas - as well as having to put up with their own mothers over the festive season. I have a lot of feelings about this film. The first is that I understand why they did the sequel like this. Christmas movies may not make the most money, but there's always a market for them. So this was an easy sequel to make, because the fact that it's a Christmas movie kind of makes it sell itself. The main selling point of this film was the comedy. And I have to admit, there were many things about the film that did make me laugh...

The Magic Of Christmas | Blogmas Day 23

Image
Hey Guys! Happy Blogmas day 23! I'm just gonna be honest, I have no idea what today's post was supposed to be. I planned all of my Blogmas posts in one of my classes when I really should have been listening to the tutor! But anyway, for this post I just wrote 'The Magic of Christmas' and left it until now, when I realised that I have no clue what to write! So I'm just gonna write some stuff that may or may not make sense. Christmas is for sure a magical time, there's no denying that. Even if you yourself don't feel festive, the rest of the country does (if you live in the UK that is), and maybe even a lot of places in the world. It's really hard to get away from the festivities And even if you're not into the whole Christmas thing, the temperature drops to the point where you feel like going outside might kill you and if it rains, it snows. Everyone is feeling the same temperature and seeing the same weather - you literally can't g...

Begin Again | Blogmas Day 22

Image
Happy Blogmas day 22 guys! So today's review is a film that I saw for the first time at the beginning of the month and it instantly made me feel happy and warm and fuzzy, in the way that Christmas should. So I thought that it was only fitting to review it this close to Christmas day! The film is about a songwriter called Gretta who goes to New York with her boyfriend, also a songwriter/singer, when he gets a record deal. However, for one reason or another, the pair break up. Leaving Gretta in New York with no idea of what to do next. Enter Dan, a record executive who discovers Gretta singing in a club just when he's searching for a new sound. Together, and with the help of some friends, they use New York City to make Gretta's first album. This film is beautiful, just beautiful. It's a musical, but not in the 'I have to sing this song to express my feelings every 5 minutes' musical, a musical in the sense that music plays such a huge part in the film th...

Christmas Tag | Blogmas Day 21

Image
Happy Blogmas Day 21! Today I'm doing a Christmas Tag, as I always to during Blogmas. The problem is that there's not that many floating around, at least that I can see. So I hope I haven't done this one before, but if I have, I have. Feel free to do it yourself and leave me your blog links in the comments, I'd love to see all the different answers! I found this tag on the blog ' Ella In The Big City ', whose blog you can check out by clicking on the name. What's Your Favourite Christmas Movie? It has to be The Family Stone. I haven't watched it this year yet but I have it recorded so that I can watch it as soon as I'm in the mood to. It's a great film about family drama, love, laughter, arguments and everything else that a family generally gets up to during Christmas time. Plus, it makes you appreciate the family that you have - and it makes you thankful that your family isn't this one! Do You Open Your Presents On Christma...

Halloween | Blogmas Day 20

Image
Happy Blogmas day 20 guys! It seems really weird to be talking about Halloween in the middle of Blogmas, especially so close to Christmas! But I really wanted to talk about this film so that's what I'm gonna do! This is quite an old film, 1978, so you've probably already heard of it and seen it, if you wanted to. I waited such a long time to see it, and had such low expectations. The film begins through the eyes of 6-year-old Michael Myers. It shows him on Halloween, as he watches his sister and her boyfriend hang out, waits for the boyfriend to leave, and brutally murders his sister. He's locked up for 15 years. However, he manages to escape and makes his way back to his home-town. In his home town lives a high school student called Laurie Strode. She and her friends become Michael's latest targets. I really really enjoyed this film! You have to take into account when it was made. It's not gonna have the production value of the Conjuring, it's n...

My Favourite Christmas Songs | Blogmas Day 19

Image
Hey Guys x It's time to get festive with some Christmas music! Not that I'm feeling particularly festive, but Christmas songs will definitely help me out with this! I have a strong love for Christmas songs, because they all have an extremely magical, festive feel to them. And unlike movies, no one ever has an argument about whether or not a Christmas song is a Christmas song! Anyway, let me show you my favourites! One More Sleep - Leona Lewis This is, in my opinion, the most underrated Christmas song, but I love it so much and listen to it all year round. It's a Christmas song and a love song, about someone wanting it to be Christmas so that they can see their partner again. Listen to this amazing song! All I Want For Christmas - Mariah Carey Obviously this is such a classic that I don't even need to say why it's on this list, and you've all definitely heard it before! Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - Mariah Carey I actually love this so...

The Impossible | Blogmas Day 18

Image
Happy Blogmas day 18! Here's another film review for you all - The Impossible! But just a warning, this is not a lighthearted happy film, so maybe don't watch it if you don't want to cry over the festive season! The film is about a family of 5, who go on holiday in Thailand for the Christmas holidays. However, the day after Christmas the family, and everyone else in the vicinity, are struck by the devastating blow of a tsunami. The family are torn apart and separated. Can they find their way back to each other before it's too late? Can they even survive? I loved this film. it is based on the true story of a family that got caught up in the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, which makes the film so much more heartfelt and devastating. I originally watched this film because Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was in it. But honestly, I'm so glad that I watched it anyway because I think it's a film that everyone should watch at lea...

My Favourite Christmas Films | Blogmas Day 17

Image
Hey Guys! Happy Blogmas day 17! When I was choosing which movies to mention in this post, I discovered that I've seen a lot more Christmas movies than I thought I had! Check out every film on this list because they're all amazing! Love Actually I'm pretty sure that everyone who wants to see this film already has because it's one of the most promoted movies around Christmas time, so there's no point in me telling you the ins and outs of the story now, but if you haven't seen this and you want to, please do. Elf I haven't seen this in a while, but I think it will always be one of my favourite Christmas movies just because of how original it is - and how it's undeniably about Christmas. Again, this film is really talked about at this time of year, so you probably already know what it's about, but if you don't, go and watch it! The Family Stone This one is a lot less publicised than the other two, but it's one of my absolute fa...

Love, Rosie | Blogmas Day 16

Image
It's Blogmas Day 16! Today's review is a lot more lighthearted than the previous one that I did, which was about 'Foxcatcher' - and it's definitely one that you can watch at Christmas time even though it's not a Christmas movie. It's about best friends Rosie and Alex. They've been best friends for as long as they can remember, and they've never wanted to be anything more. That is, until they kiss at Rosie's 18th birthday party and Alex begins to develop feelings. However, over their many years of friendship, Alex and Rosie go through many separate things, things that keep them apart. But are the two meant to be together? Or is their epic friendship just a friendship for a reason? I didn't expect to really have any feelings one way or another about this film. I thought I might like it just on the basis that it's a romantic comedy based on a book by Cecelia Ahern, whose books I really like. However, I thought it would be just someth...

The Best Vlogmas Videos | Blogmas Day 15

Image
Hey Guys - happy Blogmas day 15! Today I wanted to talk about Vlogmas. For those who don't know, Vlogmas is when YouTubers vlog every day from December 1st until Christmas. It's a time of year that I look forward to every year because I love watching their vlogs and seeing what they get up to. So today, I'm gonna let you know whose videos I'm watching religiously this Vlogmas, and what videos you should be watching too! If you think there's any more that I should be watching, please let me know in the comments! Zoella Zoe's Vlogmas is my go-to every year, because she's one of the only vloggers I follow that actually does it every year no matter what. She posts quite long videos, so it's really nice to know that I can sit and watch 40 minutes of her life every evening to keep me entertained! And as well as that, she's such a festive person that it really does make me excited(ish) for the holiday season. Niomi Smart Niomi Smart i...

Foxcatcher | Blogmas Day 14

Image
It's Blogmas Day 14. Hi everyone! This is certainly not a Christmas film in any sense, so don't watch this thinking that it'll be lighthearted because I put it in Blogmas. Trust me! The film is a true story about a wrestler called Mark Schultz, who is approached by a man called John du Pont who wants to train him and use him to help form a wrestling team for the Olympics (in 1988). Mark agrees to move in with du Pont so that he can get out of the shadow of his brother Dave Schultz, who is also a wrestler. However, living with du Pont takes it's toll on Mark, who begins to suffer in ways that he doesn't understand. And with du Pont obsessed with getting Dave to join the team, it's clear that things won't end well for this trio of athletes. This film is insane. I don't know if it was marketed as a psychological thriller but it definitely should have been. Even thinking about it is making me feel a bit weird. The main reason I watched this film wa...
