National Treasure | 100 Movies Bucket List

I had probably heard of this film in passing but not enough to really know anything about it. Even after reading the description it still felt like I was going in a bit blind.

It begins in an interesting way, giving us the exposition we need to understand the point of the film in a way that's fun and easily digestible.

A lot of the movie involves the characters breaking into things and finding things out, and although this isn't a spy movie, it's really reminiscent of one. The characters don't have fancy gadgets, but they get to do some really interesting and inventive things to find out the secrets they're uncovering, and that's fun to watch.

Then again, the whole thing is a really fun watch.

For a start, you care about the characters and their cause, so you're immediately engaged with everything that happens, and you're rooting for them from the beginning.

And the reason you care about them is because they're actually likeable and fun. You want to be on this journey with them because you enjoy spending time with them.

The story itself is a really interesting one. Rooting something fantastical in real-world events immediately adds to the realism and makes the events seem more plausible, even as they get more far-fetched.

The pacing is great in the fact that it gets more exciting as it goes on, rather than falling into the trap that a lot of action movies do where they have an exciting beginning to get you interested, and then nothing happens until the exciting ending. This sprinkles excitement throughout, which keeps you engaged the entire way through.

All of the actors were great, they made the characters interesting and that in turn made the film worth watching.

So while I don't quite understand why this film was included on a list of classic movies, it's an entertaining and engaging film that's definitely worth a watch!
