What Would Blair Waldorf Do?

Image
Hey Guys x So today's post is gonna be a little chat about one way that I've learned to handle my anxiety. I started uni on October 2nd. And when I say I was terrified, I mean I was TERRIFIED. I'm in my third year now, so this definitely shouldn't feel as daunting as it did, and of course, that's to do with my anxiety. I have anxiety surrounding various aspects of my life, the main one of which is about being in social situations. So having to sit in 2 hr long seminars multiple times a week is a big source of fear for me, and part of the reason why I hate going. So anyway, this year the anxiety was, and is, really bad. Meditation wasn't working, CBT never really worked for me, and I was just so worried about this. While I was creating a new laptop screensaver for myself, I came across the phrase 'What Would Blair Waldorf Do?' Blair Waldorf is a character from the TV show Gossip Girl, one of my favourite shows, and she's one of my favou...

September Favourites | 2017

Image
Hey Guys x Like last month, this month's 'Favourites' post is up late. I had a lot going on at the end of last month, particularly getting ready for university, so I completely blanked on writing this post. But I'm writing it now, and if you're reading this, then I got it up eventually! What were your favourite September things? Let me know in the comments! Favourite Movie: IT (2017) I've reviewed this already, so you can check that out here ! But in general, I absolutely loved this film! It was entertaining, it was thrilling, it was completely hilarious, and I'd recommend it to everyone. It's not the kind of horror that will actually scare you, but it's thrilling enough to be consistently entertaining, so please check this out if you get the chance! Favourite TV Show: Younger I honestly could not praise this show enough, I absolutely love it to pieces and it's my favourite show right now. If you're interested, it's about ...

The Roommate | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x So, today's review is on, as you can see, The Roommate. The first thing I have to say is that, this film's reviews aren't really good. It only has a 4% on Rotten Tomatoes, and I think that's really unfair, so I'm giving my honest and unbiased review in spite of the criticism. This film is about a girl called Sara who stars college away from home. There she finds a boyfriend, makes friends, and meets her roommate Rebecca, who seems like a genuinely nice girl, if a bit introverted. However, as time goes on, Rebecca starts to become more and more controlling of Sara, getting annoyed when she stays out late and wearing her things without permission. Is Rebecca just overstepping the boundaries of being a roommate, or is there something seriously wrong with her? What drew me to the film was the cast. It stars Minka Kelly, Leighton Meester (Blair from Gossip Girl), Cam Gigandet (James from Twilight), Aly Michalka (from Disney), Kat Graham (Bonnie ...

Mother! | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x So... Mother!. I have many thoughts about this, so I'm gonna get straight in with telling you what it's about - I'll try not to spoil it, but if something slips through the cracks, I'm really sorry, it's a hard film to explain. The film is about a couple, played by Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. They live a seemingly idyllic life, until they have a visitor who neither of them know. Lawrence's character wants him to leave, while Bardem's is more open and loving, he lets him stay. This man, played by Ed Harris, then brings his wife, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, to the house. As more people enter the house, Lawrence's character becomes more and more distraught, especially with her husband, who allows these people to come in and essentially destroy her home. But why is he letting them in? And will she be able to forgive him? So, I'm just gonna be completely honest, I understand and appreciate the theme of the film (and...

IT (2017) | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x So I saw IT at the weekend, and immediately I couldn't wait to review it! However, it might be worth mentioning that I saw the original before I saw the remake, which might alter my opinion somewhat. So, the film begins with two boys, Bill, and his younger brother Georgie. After making a paper sailboat together, Georgie takes the boat out in the rain, where it falls down a drain. When he goes to retrieve the boat, he finds a clown that goes by the name of 'Pennywise'. When Georgie reaches into the drain for the boat, he is taken down the drain with the demented clown. 8 months later, through a range of circumstances involving some school bullies, Bill and a group of his friends who have also been tormented by the clown, decide to take him down. Whether now, or after the 27 years that it takes for It to return, they will defeat him. I really really enjoyed this film, I liked it a lot. As a huge fan of horror, I wanted it to be truly terrifying, ...

As Above, So Below | Film Review

Image
Hey Guys x So I watched this film the other day, and I've decided that I'm going to review the films that I watch whether they're old or new. Because to be honest, when I want to watch a film, I'd rather see a newer review than an old one anyway. This film is about a girl who is looking for the 'Philosopher's Stone', that is said to create (or provide) immortality. Through her research, she discovers that she can find it in the catacombs of Paris (basically an underground cemetery type thing). So she enlists the help of her ex boyfriend, her cameraman friend, and three Parisians that she meets who are already proficient when it comes to exploring these unknown tunnels. However, when they go through the first tunnel, it collapses behind them, meaning that they have no choice but to find another way out. However, when they go through one specific tunnel, they find out that there's a reason why everyone who's gone through it has never bee...

August Favourites | 2017

Image
Hey Guys x Sorry that this one is up so late this month! I said this before, but I ended up taking a break from blogging for the last week of August, and when I was planning what posts to write, I completely forgot this one! Nevertheless, a late favourites post is better than none at all! So, let's get on with it! Favourite Movie (1): Annabelle: Creation So, I put up a review of this last week, so I'll link that here ! There's no point repeating what I said in that post, so I won't. But it's awesome! Favourite Movie (2): All Eyez On Me This is the recent biopic of Tupac Shakur. To be honest, one of the only reasons that I really wanted to watch it was because it stars Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie in the Vampire Diaries. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually a really good film. I mean, I don't know how accurate it was to his actual life, but it portrayed the hard upbringing, rise to fame, downfall and death of a popular ...
