Thunderbolts* | Film Review
An unconventional group of anti-heroes are forced to team up for a dangerous mission that makes them confront their dark pasts.
I heard so many amazing things about this film, so I was really looking forward to seeing it. I loved the group of characters that were chosen to make up this new team, and I was excited to see them all in another movie!
I absolutely loved this movie - all the great reviews are 100% true!
Of all the supporting characters in all the other MCU movies, they absolutely chose the best few to make up this team. The actors worked perfectly together and the characters were so much fun to watch.
Speaking of the actors, they are all amazing in their roles, but this movie absolutely belongs to Florence Pugh. She's incredible and completely carries this movie. The supporting cast (including Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, David Harbour and Lewis Pullman) do an amazing job, but the character I was the most engaged with was Yelena, and I would watch 100 movies with her as the main character.
The story is so engaging. The thing about superhero team-up movies is that the novelty of seeing different heroes working together has worn off. The reason people still love these films is because there's a strong story behind the team-up. And when there's not, everything just falls apart.
The villain was also great - the stakes were actually high and you really do wonder whether everyone will make it, which is key to making movies like this truly exciting.
The film is funny, warm, thrilling, exciting, emotional and essentially everything you want from a superhero movie. It goes back to classic Marvel movies that were a mix of genres with on-point writing, direction, acting and everything else.
Overall, this could have been an extra hour long and I'd be seated. I'll be seated for any more films that bring these characters together again, and it's truly made me excited for the future of the MCU, which wasn't a feeling I've really had since Endgame.
If you like superhero movies, especially if you haven't really checked into the MCU since Endgame, watch this movie!
