Craving Attention!

Hey Guys x

So, last post I said that I was having severe bloggers block and would probably take a break until December, then maybe do Blogmas.

Then, I looked over my list of blog post ideas, and decided to delete the ones that I was never going to write, and then to write up the ones that I was before the year finishes so that I can start 2017 with a completely new slate.

So, when I was deleting the post ideas, I realised that I was left with enough to write a post every day until December. I was going to delete some more, but then I decided, why not? I haven't been the best blogger this year and have missed a lot of days, so why shouldn't I blog every day for the rest of the month? So, get ready to see 11 completely random posts from me until December! And for those asking, I still haven't decided if I'm doing Blogmas yet, but if I do, it will be different from the way I've done it previously.

Also, for those asking about my pictures - for the more ambiguous ones, like the one above, I use a website called 'Pixabay' (which lets you use images without worrying about copyright) to find a random image and then write over the top of it. I know I should be taking my own pictures, and I probably will start doing that in 2017, but for the next few weeks, this will have to do. Plus they look a lot more professional than my own pictures!

But for today's post, I want to talk about craving attention.

When I was young, wanting attention was seen as a bad thing. People were called 'attention seekers', parents were leaving their babies crying in their cots because 'they just wanted attention', when someone self-harmed or spoke about being depressed, 'they just wanted attention'.

But, why is wanting attention a bad thing?

I love having attention. I hate being the centre of attention, but someone texting me and asking how I am or something is attention that I like.

As introverted as I am, humans aren't designed to not socialise - and with this, comes attention.

If someone is doing something to get attention, making something up or anything, is it a bad thing to give them the attention that they crave?

But I also think it's quite dangerous to assume that people only want attention when they share personal details about their lives - it can be really hard to expose yourself to people in this way and that should be respected.

So, to emphasise my point again - I seek attention! If you're my friend, give me some attention! If you're reading this, leave a comment below and give me some attention!

Thank you for reading!

Comment below whether or not you like getting attention!

  2. I aggree there are lots of negative sterotypes around attention but it can be a good thing and in reality everyone wants it :)

  3. I agree, being in the centre of attention and wanting some attention is totally different.
